Re: Police Quest 3 EGA 5.25"
Took a chance and bid on it. It arrived in the mail today. Proof is: PQ3_EGA_Proof.jpg Disks are labelled as: 5.25" HD MS-DOS VER #1.0 INT#10.21.91 Anyone have these in disk image format, or if that is not available, the equivalent 3.5" disks? (is that allowed? the box still has the disk e...

Police Quest 3 EGA 5.25"
Does anyone have working disk images for this, or if 5.25" images are no-go, the 3.5" version? Reason I ask is that after waiting a long time, a PQ3 EGA copy finally popped up on Ebay at: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Police-Quest-3-PC-DOS-game-5-1-4-floppy-disks-in-big-box-/271159245019?pt=Vide...

Re: Kings Quest V EGA Dual Drive
UPDATE: After work today, I found a small computer shop off of Rockville Pike in Rockville, MD and got an internal Samsung 3.5" Floppy Drive for $30 along with a floppy cable. After an initial bout of frustration due to me not pushing in the floppy cable tightly enough (god, I don't miss the ol...

Re: Kings Quest V EGA Dual Drive
The disk is not formatted msg means that the disk is corrupted. Actually, you can get that if you try to read a 720kb floppy in a cheap 1.44MB drive; you have to check the case/boxes for those drives carefully, because a lot of manufacturers deleted 720kb compatibility to save money. Also, it might...

Re: Rebuilding a lost collection.
I was living at my parents then and came home from work one night, only to have my mom let me know she cleaned out my closet and to make room she removed all the games from the boxes, flatted the boxes, and tossed them out... but she kept the floppies  I feel your pain, except mine was self in...

Re: Kings Quest V EGA Dual Drive
Or it could be my 1.44MB/720kb USB 3.5" floppy drive. I managed to maybe partially image the 3.5" startup disk, then the drive simply stopped seeing any disks after that -- everything was "disk is not formatted, do you want to format it now?" I know there's a problem with the dri...

Re: Kings Quest V EGA Dual Drive
I think it's dead Jim. I've tried imaging a sampling of disks; and none work.
