This was a neat breakdown of the scoring in KQ.

Re: SierraChest 10 Year Anniversary.
Great video - it was nice to see all sorts of people from both the immediate Sierra family (former employees) and the extended one (fans, next generation of devs, etc.).

Re: Designing Phantasmagoria III
Exactly. I like the idea of cannibals because it's not supernatural - no ancient demons, alien dimensions, or other stuff. It's just really, really horrific. The game could make you think there are ghosts or supernatural creatures related to the disappearances, maybe incorporating some other urban l...

Re: Some thoughts on GK2
I didn't think this deserved a new thread so putting it here... The funniest thing happened to me tonight. I was flipping through channels on tv and came upon a rerun of The X-Files that starts with mobsters playing poker. I recognized one of them as Nicholas Worth, who played Kriminal-Kommissar Le...

Re: Designing Phantasmagoria III
We did the haunted mansion and we did the... whatever A Puzzle of Flesh was. Maybe the third entry could have taken place in the past - how about something like the American Old West in the late 1800s? There could be a small town that's experiencing bizarre disappearances, and you play a young sheri...

Re: Designing Gabriel Knight 4.
I posted something on the now defunct Pinkerton Road forums about six years ago. I'll try my best to piece it together from my memory, but this is more or less the idea I've always had in my head. GK4 would take place about nine years after GK3. Gabriel is depressed and spending his time doing not m...

Re: Hero-U
Very nice to see the finish line is in sight for Hero-U.
Realistically I'd expect them to reach beta in mid-May, then prep for a release around August or September.

Re: The One Thing That Stuck Out For Me About Phantasmagoria
I too have fond memories of playing it very late at night in a dark room at my friend's house. That's pretty cool that it wasn't just me. :) It's one of my favorite gaming memories! We started playing late in the evening, say around 10pm after my friend's dad went to sleep and the computer was free...

Re: The One Thing That Stuck Out For Me About Gabriel Knight
Another thing about GK that made me immediately fall in love with it was the vivid culture and atmosphere of New Orleans in the first game. Aside from the foreboding nightmare in the intro, you start the game with a simple premise as an underachieving novelist who sells rare books. After talking wit...

Re: The One Thing That Stuck Out For Me About Torin's Passag
I remember Torin's Passage being a decent game overall but perhaps unremarkable aside from the visuals and animation. Each world has its own distinctive environments and visual style. It's a really neat concept and I would have loved to see a sequel or two.

Re: The One Thing That Stuck Out For Me About Lighthouse...
I absolutely depended on a walkthrough to beat Lighthouse. Great game with fiendishly clever puzzles. Of all the "Myst clones" (I hate that term) Lighthouse definitely captured the spirit of Myst as well as any other, especially the environments of Myst's Mechanical Age. The underground tr...

Re: The One Thing That Stuck Out For Me About Leisure Suit L
I was too young to really get LSL when I played the first game at a family friend's house. Regardless, what stood out to me was the ridiculousness of it all. You aren't a would-be King exploring a fantasy land, a police officer catching bad guys, or even a space custodian. Nope, you're just a guy tr...
