Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)

Some nice items arrived today in the mail, perfectly timed for the weekend! As I am collecting all AGI and SCI releases Sierra has released (excluding compilations), these items are filling some gaps that I still had. So let's see... 1. Donald Duck's Playground in a very nice condition, in aspect of...

Re: Sierra Remakes

I can't really answer your question, but I wanted to remind you that there were 2 more remakes: QfG1 and Mixed-Up Mother Goose (which was actually remade 3 times!) Actually MMG was remade 4 times. The original AGI and 3 different of SCI -- the earlier SCI EGA (probably SCI0), SCI1 MPC and Deluxe. A...

Sierra Remakes

Hello! While collecting boxes I started to wonder about the Remakes... As all of you know, Sierra did Remakes of PQ1, LSL1, SQ1 and KQ1. In a rather short timeframe and as far as I recall somewhat 4 years after their initial AGI-Releases. Looking back, I think this was a rather... bold... move. Re-r...

Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)

... and has put my KQ1 collection to an astounding number of 6 different boxes... Still something missing? Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)

It sounds like it is mixed up. I believe that Tawm got a copy with both in one box. Perhaps it is from someone whose machine could not handle the high requirements of SCI, so sent the SCI disks back to Sierra in exchange for AGI replacement disks. Did you look at the contents on the disks? It arriv...

Kings Quest VI Boxes

Hi there! As far as I have seen, there are 5 differently colored Kings Quest VI Boxes around (black, white, red, blue, purple). Additionally there seems to be another, slimer, white box in a different Design as some kind of Upgrade Pack. Does anybody know the reason for these differently colored box...

Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)

One of the coolest things is actually the Sierra catalogue from 1987, which came along with the grey/silver KQ1 Box. It has All three KQ's in its grey/silver layout promoted, as well as Space Quest 1 in its black box, and further ancient Software :-)

Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)

Seems to be King's Quest day, today... Just found in the Mail today the Grey/Silver Box of Kings Quest 1 (btw, is it normal, that only KQ2 and KQ3 as grey/silver boxes do have this flap on top of the box? Mine KQ1 doesn't...) KQ1-0.jpg KQ1-1.jpg KQ1-2.jpg as well as King's Quest 4 in its AGI incarna...

Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)

Got this one in a pawn shop for ~6 US$... A rather well preserved KQ3 in its grey/silver release!

Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)

Received today via Mail this nice item, Police Quest 1. Still one of my most favoured Sierra Games. Seems to be a rather early version, as the Requirements Label looks more like the ones from the grey Kings Quest boxes. Another PQ1 I have has already the more modern grey-blue stripes. Additionally t...

Not yet! Just bought it yesterday and shipping to Germany will probably take up to 4 weeks. Will keep you posted though, as soon as I receive it.

Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)

Hi there! Funny enough, it seems I just bought yet another KQ IV AGI. Was looking for this release for more than 6 months, and now it seems I bought 2 of them within 1 week... I bought this one here on EBay: http://www.ebay.de/itm/221174267316 The Requirements Label states it needs 512K of RAM and s...

Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)

It was shelved under "DOS"! So my *hope* is, that it will be the AGI version... Though it might happen, that simply one 3,5" and three 5,25" disks are missing simultanously. Or the seller simply counted wrong. Let's see, what I will receive :-)
