Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)

Might be, that the year started with a nice find. Was looking at Amazon.com around. Found 13 merchants offering Kings Quest IV used, starting at 8 US$. Two of them had very detailed descriptions of the content (something that you barely see at Amazon). And one of these two stated: contains three 3,5...

Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)

I saw a video a while back showing how you can tell a 3rd party game from the 'real deal' and they mentioned a hole poked through the bottom of the box as an indicator. Does anyone remember that video? Nice collection, Tawm! XD The explanation of the mystery of the pinholes can be found here: http:...

Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)

The Rqts label states, that it needs 640KB of RAM and supports Roland MT-32. That should point in the direction of the SCI Re-release, right? Or did AGI at any time support the MT-32?

Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)

Thanks a lot! And while we are at it: What is this? A SQ1 SCI Remake shrinkwrapped in a SQ1 AGI Box?

Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)

The rqts. label is indeed a sticker. And according to this http://www.vintage-sierra.net/slash3.php a white cardboard inner box is not too uncommon for SCI0 games.

Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)

It's a sticker on the slip cover, not on the shrink-wrap.

Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)

I was able to acquire this rather cheaply... A shrinkwrapped Larry, which I rarely see for sale. Seems like most people at least unboxed Larry :-) Anyway, I was wondering a little bit, as the Requirements Sticker is grey/white and slightly unfamiliar to me. Additionally the inner box is white and no...

Re: Sierra Games: Where Do I Belong?

Right so! Congratulations! I have to admit that after it was mentioned here I had to briefly scan Gold Rush background pictures to make sure that this painting in PQ2 wasn't indeed a visual reference to Gold Rush, which I didn't noticed before. It really looks a lot like this. :-) Stuntology, your t...

Re: Sierra's Worse Adventure Game?

Re: LSL5 I think I have read somewhere, that LSL5 was originally written as parser-driven game. And only rather late they decided to do it with an icon interface. Might be, that LSL5 was the first icon interface game at all done by Sierra? Additionally I've read that Al Lowe (?) acknowledged later o...
