Re: KQ6 - Enhanced - On Vista - Possible?
The DOS version of KQ6 in DOSBox already sounds great with general MIDI. It is the MIDI drivers for 3x that makes the music sound like crap in Win3x in DOSBox. You mean it still sounds like crap even when you setup the Win3x midi mapper to forward the channels to the Vista midi mapper like what I h...

Eh, only for the FM Synth right? I thought it'd be the exact same under DOSBox if you set the midi mapper to whatever that passthrough option is called (midi i/o or something like that).Collector wrote:Keep in mind that with the Win3x drivers, the music will be sub par as compared to the DOS.

That annoying manual screen on KQ4
I recently stumbled on a way to disable the annoying manual check screen in King's Quest 4 (1.006.004, its the one on the collections) and was wondering if anyone else was interested in it. It's a 1 byte change (load script 700 instead of 701), and it's not like you can't find the manual out there a...

Re: Anyone else following the Scummvm SCI development?
Sounds entirely too complicated for my brain... :? http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Bannerbomb goes through how to install the homebrew channel only using an sd card, and it has pictures :D Haven't tried any sci games on it yet though. King's Quest V cd works very well, it dies at the same part the floppy v...

Anyone else following the Scummvm SCI development?
I've been playing around with the latest svn of Scummvm and you can get all the way to the labyrinth under Mordack's castle with the floppy disk version of King's Quest V. The only crashes I've seen so far have been on death screens, and the labyrinth isn't completeable just because the graphics fli...

Re: KQ7 hangs in Windows 3.1
I would assume its just the game since the midi sequencer is still playing the track.

Re: KQ7 hangs in Windows 3.1
It happens every time I try and start a new game, fresh install of Win3.1 with just the video and sound drivers installed. I know it runs perfectly in DOSBox, I use that for my 64-bit machine.

KQ7 hangs in Windows 3.1
Does anyone know how to fix the crash/hang problems in Windows 3.1? For example, right after the first dust cloud appears in the kangaroo rat being chased by the jackalope scene, the animation stops and everything is unresponsive but the music keeps going. It's version 2.00b (anyone else who has the...

Re: KQ6's ending song
I did something similar with our "upgrade" copy that doesn't include the audio track (luckily my sister has the first collection so I was able to get the track). I never did figure out a way to merge the audio track with the cue/bin short of burning to a cd-rw and dumping an image from tha...
