Re: Thexter 1 and 2 Wallpapers.

I've spent way too much time playing sierra's version of Thexder. Have any you played the MSX2 version of Firehawk? It's very different to Sierra's port, kinda disappointing Sierra cut the intro and ending scenes in the game.

Re: Thexter 1 and 2 Wallpapers.

You used the MS-DOS version for the Thexder wallpaper however I think the Tandy version is much more vibrant

Thexder & Firehawk Video Walkthroughs

Recorded these a few years ago so thought I'd post them up if anyone is stuck trying to finish these games.

Re: 5.25" Drives on modern PC's

I already have them on my HD but sometimes it's fun to play the games the way I used to play them.

Re: 5.25" Drives on modern PC's

The problem with that is you need write capabilities for the 1st disk of any SCI sierra disk game to create the CFG file on the 1st disk. Don't 5.25 use standard HD molex power plugs?

Re: 5.25" Drives on modern PC's

Thanks for the reply shame there isn't a external one and that they are pretty pricey might be better off just getting a Tandy or something. I tried Bequest on disk but since you need to revisit locations a lot the disk swapping gets tedious real fast I need to try a more linear adventure game for t...

5.25" Drives on modern PC's

Is there a relatively easy way to get a 5.25" drive working in a modern PC? I have an external USB 3.5" drive which works great but I was wondering if there is a way to do the same with 5.25". Either a USB controller card to plug a drive into or fully functioning USB 5.25" drive ...

Re: New LSL Game with Al Lowe

Yeah guess you're right I just thought when they mention Al Lowe was involved it'd be a new game even though it says it's just the original enhanced version so I was a bit confused.

New LSL Game with Al Lowe

http://www.ausgamers.com/news/read/3068872 Replay Games have announced that they're bringing back the classic sleazy Sierra adventure hero, Leisure Suit Larry, with Al Lowe himself returning to take the reins in a recreation of Leisure Suit Larry In The Land Of The Lounge Lizards: Sounds good but is...

Re: Thexder 1 and 2 installers

Noticed you have a few new installers I tried out the QFG5 and Thexder 95 ones and they work great thanks for those. However the Firehawk link goes to the same download as Thexder like what ltcolonel97062 said. Also in your DOSBox config for Thexder you should change the machine type from svga_s3 to...

Re: Understanding Roland MT-32

Thanks for the informative writeup that makes a lot more sense. I do play a lot of the pre VGA SCI games they have a certain charm to them and it'd be a lot more fun to replay some of them with a roland, I'm watching this PQ2 LP on youtube with a Roland and it just sounds great. I don't have any int...

Understanding Roland MT-32

Now I've seen a lot of people talk about needing a Roland MT-32 to get the best sound in most Sierra games and I've seen various clips on youtube comparing them. But I still don't fully understand them as I'd be interested in getting one but not too keen on paying for one if I'm not too sure if I'm ...

Re: Has anyone got a savegame near the end of QFG4?

Might be a bit late but the Anthology CD has an extensive collection of save games for all the games (Except QFG5) including import files of a Magic User named Jester.

Thexder Neo

Just found out they made a remake to this game and it came out on October 1st, it's made by Square Enix and it's called Thexder Neo essentially a remake of the original Thexder. It's available exclusively for the PSP on the Playstation Network for a mere $9.99 Here's the website about the game it ha...
