Re: QfG5
It's a good game in its own right, but don't forget that it strays from the other games in a few ways. The main difference is that it's a little more combat-heavy than the other games (although the Thief and Wizard can avoid most combat situations pretty easily, with the Thief being rewarded for tak...

Re: Werewolves and Vampires
And Matthias - if you've never done a P&P game - I'd recommend it if you can find a good Dungeon Master/DM. The DM makes all the difference in the world. I was actually going to run a Werewolf game, as I had plenty of story ideas, and it would be a learning experience for all of us. Sadly, my f...

Re: Which one would YOU be?
I wouldn't say I'm afraid of any "creepy crawlies," I just don't like sharing my home with them.

Re: Which one would YOU be?
Matt, centipedes are actually poisonous and have been known to bite people. Most of the time their bite does about the same damage as a bee sting. However, like bee stings, some people are quite allergic to centipede poison. I looked these guys up a while ago, and they aren't harmful to humans: htt...

Re: Which one would YOU be?
On the topic of house centipedes (wanted to chime in with my personal experience), we have them here too. It's not always cold here, but our weather does fluctuate rapidly (I mean, it was about 60 degrees a few days ago and now we're down in the lower 40s since yesterday). I find them in my apartmen...

I'm guessing it means:
Gabriel: Much thanks, my Ms. Gerde.
Gerde: Your welcome, Mr. Knight.

Re: TV Series
There are a lot of TV shows I've been watching recently, but I'll just list the ones I like the most out of the bunch: I love 24, didn't get into it until the 5th season, and then I went back and watched all the previous seasons. They're releasing a "prequel" movie to the new season at the...

Re: News of Day
I'm really glad Obama got in. He's such a great public speaker, and I get this vibe from him that most of what he's spewing isn't BS - mostly because he's always straight-to-the-point and doesn't dance around questions. I find him genuinely interesting to listen to. Unless he really is all talk, he...

Re: Favorite Quest for Glory game and why?
I love all the Quest for Glory games, but 4 edges 1 slightly for me. The first one is near the top of my list because of all the nostalgia playing it brings me. I also love the Germanic setting and characters, as well as the sense of accomplishment of going from zero to hero; most of the rest of the...

Re: Which games are you looking forward to playing?
Yes, anyone who hasn't played Mass Effect yet should do themselves a favor and play it! Assassin's Creed is a great game as well, but it doesn't have much lasting appeal. However, it is still fun after you beat the game, since it turns into a sandbox in a way, and you can run around and do whatever ...

Re: Which one would YOU be?
I agree with Almirena, I would love to be the Hero in Quest for Glory. Whenever I make a character and take him through the series, I always create a mindset for him through his actions. Sometimes I'll do quirky things to "develop" his character as well, such as not sleeping in certain pla...

Re: Hmmm. What do you think of this?
Very interesting read, Rath! You did a good job with the banter between Gabriel and Grace.
I don't have anything to contribute right now (and I wouldn't feel right to, considering I'm not exactly a GK expert), but if I think of anything, I'll let you know.

Re: Werewolves and Vampires
On the topic of V:TM, I never actually played (just the two PC games), but I had the source book and read up much on WhiteWolf RPGs in general. I was always partial to the Lasombra and, if I ever played, would've wanted to be a Lasombra Antitribu (or however you spell it). There was something just p...
