Re: QFG1 VGA crashes in DOSBox
Funny how some discussions never go away, especially on the internet...was surprised to find a message update in my e-mail. Just wanted to say what a great job you've done with the site, it's a great resource for Sierra fans. My laptop PC died on me not to long ago and I decided to get a Mac (my bro...

Xbox 360 wireless (or wired) controller with DOS games?
Does anyone know if you can use an Xbox 360 PC controller with DOS games like SIERRA DOS games that support joysticks? And to take it one step further, do you think it would be possible to use the Messenger Kit (you know, the "chat pad") in conjunction with the controller as a keyboard to ...

Re: QFG1 VGA crashes in DOSBox
I just start a new hero character and I think I randomly picked the fighter character. I have DOSBox installed in the Program Files folder and the game is in my SIERRA folder in the root directory (C:\). I haven't tested it out with saved games or anthing. By the way, I'm plying from the Anthology v...

Re: QFG1 VGA crashes in DOSBox
I tested out the crash by talking to several of the game characters including the sheriff, the centaur girl, the healer, Zara, and the guildmaster. I click the mouth icon on someone to speak to them and bring up the conversation options, then hit the Esc key to exit the conversation. Then, if you hi...

Re: QFG1 VGA crashes in DOSBox
Sorry, haven't checked the forums in a while and just read your post. I ran the diagnostic tool and the .txt file should be attached. I actually enjoy the original EGA version of QFG1 much more so I'm not really concerned with the crashes in the VGA version. I played it for quite some time and didn'...

Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)
Air Bucks??? I remember playing that. My Dad got it for me. He started an airline way back when called Destination Sun Airways (now known as AirTran). That game was pretty bad. I remember modifying ticket prices over and over again but there was a certain sweet spot. And you had to race to get...

Re: Post your new Sierra treasures here (box shots optional)
....but I'm extremely jealous of that Hero's Quest.... :( Me too. I had the original QFG1 box that said Hero's Quest as well as all the QFG series boxes but, alas, I tossed them out years ago (why, why, why! stupid!). You all have inspired my tendency to collect things again and buy back what I threw...

Re: Roland MT-32 Glory!!!
Of the QfG games, QfG2's MT-32 track is the most impressive. Totally. The Trial By Fire soundtrack on the MT-32 just blows you away. I was surprised when I heard the background sounds, like bird chirps, when playing So You Want To Be A Hero . Just awesome! I love how the MIDI message pops up on the...

Roland MT-32 Glory!!!
Just got my brand-spankin' new (actually used) MT-32 module and hooked it up. WOW! I grew up with Sierra games my favorite of which was the Quest for Glory series. Lots of fond memories. For a nice nostalgia trip, I like to fire them up with DOSBox (and the help of the Sierra Installers - th...

QFG1 VGA crashes in DOSBox
I have an interesting problem. Using the latest version of DOSBox, I start QFG1 VGA and I noticed that when talking to characters and hitting the ESC key to back out of the conversation (rather than clicking on the "Enough already" option) causes the game to crash. The game also crashes so...

Re: Exporting and importing characters Question
I sort of had the same problem. It automatically fills the location with "a:glory1.sav". I just deleted this and then entered a name for the save file without any path like "C:\". The file ends up in the QFG1 folder or the folder that is mounted by DOSBox. I guess you figured som...
