You're welcome
Oh these PC's are always around, so if a time comes when you have some pennies to spare, let me know.
Funny though, that really old systems like 80286 , 80386 are really HARD to find anymore......

Re: Old computers offer!
Thanks for the info.
I'm not a member at the other forums, only this one though and I like the "tone" of this forum.
No offence intended towards the creators of DOSBox e.t.c.
It was just a friendly offer..........

Old computers offer!
I often come across old computers that are still being sold at local junk yards, second hand shops e.t.c. These can range from various 80486 100mhz systems up to about 1GHz systems. They cost around 100USD to 150USD per piece. Some cheaper, some more expensive (but these I avoid as they're not worth...

Re: Longbow EGA
Excellent! Thanks for the screenshot.
And you know, this EGA version looks much better than for example Space Quest III which IS designed for EGA.
Do you have other screenshots for other Sierra with EGA versions?
I'm very interested to see SQ4 in EGA if you have that?

Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)
This came in the post yesterday:
Kings Quest Collection and Gabriel Knight 3 (sealed)
I bought both for 2.57 USD each.
Very lucky, especially since it was from someone that really looked after his games, excellent condition!

Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)
Hey, great!! Those companion books, are they just 'fan-fiction' stories about the games, or are they like "help & hints" style books?

Re: Importing a Character into Quest for Glory V
As far as I remember (back in '98) Sierra shortly thereafter released a patch to import from QfG4 depending on if the character was saved as a DOS version or windows version.
As far as I recall, the DOS character export gave problems when importing into QfG5.

Re: Old computers for Sierra games.
Core 2 Duo with DOSBox. DOSBox has made the need for a dinosaur irrelevant. DOSBox is the only way to fly. Sorry to hear about that :( Although DOSBox is probably ok to relive those old games, nothing beats sitting down with a "dinosaur", hearing it whirrrrr up, smelling the old piston en...

Ah! That was the one from eBay a few days ago. The one from the seller that worked at a software store and he purchased it when it was released in those boxes and it only had 1 owner since the beginning.QuestCollector wrote:Got me a copy of this finally

Old computers for Sierra games.
What computers do you use to play your Sierra games on?
I use an AMD 80386 SX 16Mhz with 360K floppy drive.
I wish I had an Intel 80286 system..........maybe in the future......
