Re: SQ1EGA - How to Determine the Version?
I am most intrigued by your usb 5.25" ... I have looked into that $55 adapter off-and-on for the past several months but never could pull the trigger. Out of curiosity, does their application only pull files off the drive, or can it create an "image" of the drive? I was wondering if ...

Re: Sierra Fan Games
I guess I should make some official announcement of my own game on this forum and stop hiding in the shadows so much. [...]...Try not to spread it around too much. Just yet. We're trying to be sneaky. ;) Contradicting statements in the same post? Nah.... :) Either way, looking forward to both of th...

Re: The Hobbit to begin filming in February
Well to play devil's advocate, I wonder what kind of powers the unions had (and gave up) over all of this. I wonder if the unions there previously had way too much power and this just brings them back into the fray? After all, the IDEA of unions, much like the IDEA of socialism, is a good one. In pr...

Re: The Sierra Booty! (Your Inventory Of Sierra Games!)
FYI ... I can read both 5.25" and 3.5" floppies ... (sorry, no 8" support.. ha!) I may even be able to read cassettes for our TRS-80, though I haven't powered that thing on in over 20 years (but do still have it!). if anyone would like their floppies read off and emailed to them, just...

Re: The Hobbit to begin filming in February
I actually enjoyed The Hobbit more than the LOTR trilogy. It was more of a simple, balanced adventure and didn't feel as oppressively dark. I can see it making the transition into film better. +1 I enjoyed The Hobbit much more as well, and honestly didn't understand everything that was going on in ...

Re: Up next-- KQIV...
Oh now you're just making the decision even harder. Stop it! :) Are the type that reads things like Foundation (Asimov) or The Chronicles of Narnia (C. S. Lewis) in chronological order rather than publication order, too??? :) I fancy myself to be a publication-order kind of guy .... :) ..dane

Up next-- KQIV...
Just finished KQIII tonight. 202 out of 210. Going through the point list, I did not eavesdrop on the thieves nor enter the tree stump as a fly.. oh well. I really am enjoying going back and playing these old games... :) KQI, II, III down. I had been planning on going through all the KQ's and then g...

Re: How versions differ?
The classic problem of software (and hardware) development... nothing man creates ages gracefully unless a LOT of time/money is put into it (e.g. most bridges last a pretty good while)Collector wrote:let alone decades after the game was released.
For consumer software though, 5 years is a long life..

So I assume these 'fake users' are removed after the ball is sufficiently over? (seems logical)
