Re: Fan Games in Win7 ?
Heard back from the developer of SQ IV.5 who said it works find on his Win7 64bit machine. Doesn't work on my Win7 32bit machine (Intel HD graphics chipset). However he did mention that it worked fine under WinXP SP2 . I had tried running it in compatibility mode for WinXP SP3 as well as Win98 with ...

Re: Fan Games in Win7 ?
KQIII (IA) uses AGS v2.71 SQIV.5 (Westend Studios) uses AGS v2.72 KQI and II use AGS v3.x, which allows you to choose which graphics driver is used. That seems to make a huge difference (for now). I imagine IA is working on bringing KQIII up to date with a more recent AGS engine (among other things)...

Re: Fan Games in Win7 ?
Reply from IA regarding their KQIII remake:
Dane,
Hello! Yes, we're actually working on a "gold" upgrade to KQIII which fixes a lot of bugs and such. Look for that sometime in the next year.

Re: Fan Games in Win7 ?
Found this : try to change graphic driver option in AGS game setup. [..snip..] Try setting Direct3D 9. EDIT: Testing update with Windows 7... KQI (ADGI) - v4.0 works using "Direct3D 9" (though v4.1 just released with some Win7 fixes, not yet tested) KQII (ADGI) - v3.0 works using "Di...

Re: Favorite Movies
It would take me way too long to try and go remember all my favorite movies ... The quickest way is for me to copy-paste from my "wishlist" page ... :) while this isn't an exhaustive list, it's the ones that I've thought about in recent years.. There are a few that aren't on the list yet b...

Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)
Very nice. It would be great if all of the Sierra art had survived, especially all of the background paintings used in the games. I'm curious as what will be in The Art of Sierra book. I just recently found out about that work in progress.. does anyone know an anticipated release date, projected co...

Re: Get Lamp
 I was bored and downloaded the Final Soul game on my laptop at work... which is 64Bit Win7... and totally forgot it won't run on it. For the Got Lamp stuff - do they work on Windows 7 64B? You mean for the IF Competition? Probably-- check out their site. I looked briefly earlier.. Each year i...

"Second person thinker" is an awesome way to put it! ;) I agree! Best text adventure game I ever played is free and found right here called Final Soul. Some crazy ass dude named Tawmis wrote it when he first moved back to California and was living with his friends at the time... hah...

Re: Get Lamp
I only watched most of disc 1 (haven't started disc 2 yet).. They focus pretty hard-core on Infocomm since it was the most successful text IF company (Ever). They mention softporn very briefly in the (text) introduction, but the rest seems to be pretty much infocomm based (both pre-infocomm and duri...
