Re: Anyone know about this?
I certainly have a busy schedule, but I hope you're not insinuating that you're going to start thinking about shutting down these forums.. There aren't many forums left for me to be a part of.. :( The last forum I was "really big at" closed because its owner was brought to court for improp...

Re: WTB: Chessmaster XI (aka Grandmaster Edition)
Oh bummer. I had forgotten that I changed my username. Long story short, somebody else had "audiodane" for years and years and years.. I finally got it when their account seems to have expired. I only changed to my desired username about two weeks ago, and while I input my max price to the...

Re: Anyone know about this?
That means he is trying to link directly to my files, not a page. I disallowed hot linking because some abandonware sites were linking to my files as if they were their own. Cool, how do you do that (detect hot linking)? Ultra short answer, please.. I've not a website to implement it on, I'm just c...

Re: WTB: Chessmaster XI (aka Grandmaster Edition)
Wow, it's becoming a commodity.. Are y'all bidding it up trying to keep me from it?? about 10 hours to go, up to 12 bids and USD$17.. The odds are not "ever in my favor" on this one..
oh well.
oh well.

Re: WTB: Chessmaster XI (aka Grandmaster Edition)
Ha! One just popped up in my ballpark (USD$10).. Hopefully nobody else wants it right now.. :) And yes, I'm thinking about the instruction mode. I recall CM2k that we had you could select a piece and it would show you where it could move and such.. I've already taught my kids these things, but they ...

Re: WTB: Chessmaster XI (aka Grandmaster Edition)
The kids are just now starting to learn the names of pieces and what they look like normally- I do not want to go start introducing all sorts of different types of chess pieces.. So battle chess and combat chess are out (I looked at them on GOG last week). Rath, that's interesting what you say about...

Re: WTB: Chessmaster XI (aka Grandmaster Edition)
I know! Those prices are just absurd! And to your recommendation-- ha ha! I forgot that Windows came with Chess! I'll try it out tonight.. thanks for the reminder. I have setup an eBay watch reminder as well..

WTB: Chessmaster XI (aka Grandmaster Edition)
Super ultra long story short, I taught two of my kids this month how to play Chess, and they're begging me to play with them. Well I still have a day job, and they're out on summer vacation- so I'm looking to install a chess program for them to play while I'm at work.. This particular franchise goes...

That's great, B! With his arms up like that, my mind's eye also sees the three nephews running around driving him crazy..

Re: Hmm... question re: the Hobbit movie(s)
Don't worry - they will have an ultimate expanded Hobbit deluxe box set after all three are out. When they started to release the expanded versions earlier for LOTR, it cost WB in regular DVD sales because people started to hold off for the better versions. I think they're trying to play it safe th...

Re: Cool and Interesting News & Such.
Oh don't get me started on that.. I just _discovered_ water, so I'm going to patent it. That's no more absurd than getting a patent on a gene that you did not CREATE, you just DISCOVERED. You cannot patent helium or argon. You can patent a way to TEST for it, or a way to DO something with it, but yo...
