Re: Wiki or master list of Sierrra in-game locations?

Hmm.. I would imagine they're out of my ballpark also. I'm primarily a electronics hardware designer, my programming knowledge is from my youth, before college training as an electrical engineer. I totally get the busy aspect of everyone's lives though. Unfortunate, but volunteer is as volunteer doe...

Re: Wiki or master list of Sierrra in-game locations?

That is awesome. I have hopes one day of trying my hand at something like this. Though I wonder if AGI would be easier (or harder??) .. As for the wiki.. I'm actually pretty surprised that there isn't a more comprehensive sierra wiki.. I'm a huge fan, but not nearly very knowledgeable, so my actual ...

Re: Wiki or master list of Sierrra in-game locations?

Thanks, glad to be back! As every time I return, I hope to be able to stick around a while, but I can never know the future. :( I do know that over the coming weeks I hope to FINALLY create that archive of old games that my brother and I used to enjoy. A couple years back it was going to be a USB st...

Re: Looking for Space Quest III 1.0P

Yeah, the 5.25'' disk set. Some wonderful person actually ticked the write protect tab on the 3.5''. The version is not particularly hard to find, but I bought out all the listings on ebay so you might not find one for sale atm. Wow, how many did you buy??? And are you just re-listing them after yo...

I doubt I have anything to add here, except I would love to be party to this effort also. I don't even know how to find some of these version details that y'all are looking for. But I can try!

Re: Sierra's AGI CPC Disk Protection

Sierra AGI CPC Disk Protection Condensed from a thread on Sierra Gamers Credit goes mostly to NewRisingSun [..SNIP...] The best modern solution is to use Cold Turkey's ( siastbill1 ) AGI DiskFree Decryptor . AGI DiskFree Decryptor is a modern (Win32) implementation of SUP and the AGI Decryptor. Not...

Wiki or master list of Sierrra in-game locations?

Okay awesome people .. I come to you for help! Is there a list somewhere that simply has a list of all in-game locations and a brief description? I'm thinking a page that lists either by game or alphabetical things like Daventry (KQ), Arcada (SQ), etc, each with a brief description, possibly a scree...

Re: DOSBox and laptop heat.

I have noticed even on newer machines, that DOSBox requires quite a bit of processing power to properly emulate these old machines.. I think it's just down to emulation overhead that doesn't apply to "native apps" like word and firefox.. That said, if even running MS Word makes your system...

Re: So... just wondering (question re: WYSIWYG web editors)

I have always heard of wysiwyg in reference to HTML, not plain documents. For a word processor, I do prefer Word, especially since the docx format. As a child of the 80's and TRS-80 and 8088's, wysiwyg was a big deal when it came to Microsoft platforms. Growing up with DOS, we used LEWP (leading ed...

Re: So... just wondering (question re: WYSIWYG web editors)

Hmmm, funny-- when I think wysiwyg editors, I don't think about webpage creation! I'm thinking users manuals, reports, and the like. I'm beginning to feel like a fish out of water in this conversation now. I never intended to imply that I thought MSWord (or Libre Office) had its place in web content...

Re: So... just wondering (question re: WYSIWYG web editors)

NP++ is awesome, I use it too.. but sometimes you just need a wysiwyg.. And when you do, Word works pretty well. LibreOffice is coming along very nicely, it's pretty great, but the interface is still a bit clunky (it feels like Word 95), and not particularly responsive at times..

You say that like it is a bad thing.
I've been using Word since Windows 3.0 ... While it has it's moments and limitations, it's still pretty good.. What do you use?
