Re: So...no one else is gonna bring it up?

8GB RAM is definitely scraping the bottom of the barrel for PCs these days. It's the bare minimum. My last machine I had upgraded to 24GB (because of my music studio software and a couple games). That system I built new in 2011. When I got my new system a couple years ago I went up to 32GB. I wouldn...

Re: Steam and GOG sales

The original Fallouts always reminded me more of Diablo and Crusader: No Remorse (at least how they looked and somewhat controlled: SVGA isometric. Obviously they're all quite different games). And as far as games looking ugly goes...what Tawm said lol. All of our favourite Sierra and LucasArts game...

Re: Steam and GOG sales

It's worth noting that Bethesda bought the Fallout IP years after the first 3 Fallout games (1, 2, and Tactics) which were produced by Interplay in the late 90s (Tactics was actually 2001). When Bethesda took it over and developed Fallout 3 in 2008 they turned it into a first person RPG more like Th...

Re: Steam and GOG sales

Incidentally, if it wasn't already mentioned somewhere and I missed it, it's worth nothing that that's for the original DOS EGA Secret Agent game and not the "HD" remaster.

Re: Report forum or site issues.

CSS seems messed up somehow, yeah. Forum icons are gone and the profile links and notification area are all clumped to the left.

Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)

I will need to check it out - that's some high praise. Word of warning of course, it can be frustrating and challenging and sometimes tedious but it's not the worst example of such in the DOS gaming library. I am giving it high praise, but I just really enjoy it and loved my experience playing it a...

Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)

Secret Agent is freaking awesome. One of my favourite classic Apogee platformers. It uses the same engine as Crystal Caves. The "HD" remaster is quite good (it's not actually in HD it just supports modern displays and has prettier colours than EGA, but it's tastefully done). Also has a bon...

Re: The Music Thread.

The cast list is just the actors for the video. Definitely not that Jim West.

Re: The Music Thread.

I am disappointed that we don't see who the two "bar maids" are when they're named. :D The credits lists the cast. But the two barmaids aren't actually singing on the track. The backup singers are Marcela Bovio (from Stream of Passion) and Irene Jansen (Floor's sister). I forgot to mentio...

Re: The Music Thread.

I got the latest Star One album Revel In Time for Christmas and have been listening to the title track nonstop. Like Arjen's previous Star One albums, each song is based on a sci-fi movie or show around a certain theme. The first album Space Metal is based on movies that take place in space like Sta...

Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)

It is a Slash release so technically not official I suppose, but yeah it's kind of light purple/periwinkle. It's unique enough to count anyway in my view. Most Slash releases just use the same art.

At one point I was convinced there was a yellow box I saw but I was mistaken.

Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)

There are 5 colours. Blue, red, black, purple, and white (there are like 3 different kinds of white boxes too with different thicknesses). There doesn't seem to be a reason for them all. Just different releases. Some are on the same platform, some are floppy, some are CD, but some floppy and CD boxe...

Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)

Never did show off my acquisition of all the King's Quest boxes (sans collections). KQ7 is a french box but who cares. It's got a slip cover like the older games so it fits right in in my book :D. I'm missing some variant covers (KQ1-3 gray boxes, KQ2-3 brown boxes, KQ1 gold box, KQ1 PCjr box, the P...

Re: Star Wars / Star Trek Discussion (SciFi In General)

There was a third world war before the events of the past in First Contact too. But mostly I just tended to believe there was no in-universe reason and they just did it to keep the show feeling credible while also showing their respect for the classics. There was one episode I didn't watch until I w...
