Re: California Fires (Christi Marx)
I don't think it aired when I was growing up in Israel. The only cartoons I remember from that era (1985-88) are the Smurfs and the Care Bears. I guess the TV programmers at that time - in Israel at any rate - thought along the "cartoons are for little kids" lines. Funny - w...

Re: Hero-U
I'm sure the game will be great.
I'm only nitpicking the trailer. I expect trailers to be more like movie trailers: to tease me with the story - not with a list of traits the game is supposed to have.
However, looking at the QFG4 trailer ( it suffers from the same problem.

Re: Hero-U
The trailer looks like a laundry list of traits the game claim to posses.
I'd prefer a trailer that expose us to the story.

Re: Translating SCI Games
QFG1 or PQ2 run on a 640x400 12 color mode Since you seem knowledgeable about these games, can you please take a look here: http://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/Quest_for_Glory#NEC_PC-9801_Version I took those images and wrote the description but I'm not 100% sure of its accuracy. The thing is, QFG1 f...

Re: My Camelot playthrough
Which still doesn't match up. I'm guessing 357 is a typo. :) Oops, you're right  About the chapel: If you start with a Gold coin for Christ, you'll get the points for the silver one as well. If you start with the silver coin, you'll get the points separately. But it's not possible to ge...

Re: My Camelot playthrough
Thanks notbobsmith. I compared the point list you used with the hint book and my script analysis: Your point list has the following extra points: Attempt to buy Grail in bazaar (1 gold, in smaller coins): +5 Skill points Asking the scholar about Jerusalem: +1 Wisdom point The hint book has the follo...

Re: My Camelot playthrough
And just finished using a walkthrough/point list: sciv_000.png Seems that 366 is the correct number of skill points. And I managed to find an extra wisdom point. I asked the Old Ones about silver, which doesn't show up on any of the point lists that I've found. Can you explain how did you come up w...

Re: Bypassing bugs in QfG3 - try Scumm VM instead of DOSBox
Second, there is quite an annoying bug in terms of graphics only: no darkness. Night-related events work just fine, but it doesn't get visually dark at night. Only twice it did: in the inn and room on the first night and then when travelling with Rakeesh to SImbani village. Quite possibly, this is ...

Re: Colonel's Bequest - 1993 Reissue?
At least the last paragraph on this page is objectively wrong: Demonstration versions In the late 80's, Sierra did not create demonstration versions of most of their games, so Sierra never released a demonstration version of The Colonel's Bequest. The demo can be downloaded from this page: https://w...

If it's indeed the initial release and it's not v1.000.046 I'd love to get a copy and analyze its scripts!

Re: Colonel's Bequest - 1993 Reissue?
A few findings: The PC v1.000.046 version that everyone seems to have, is from 1993; at least according to its file dates. Since the game was first released in 1989, it's reasonable to believe there's an earlier version out there. There's a demo from 1989. I looked into it, and the fireflies do act ...

There are also the Amiga version (1.000.059) and Atari ST version (1.000.062). I might be able to check them later.

BTW,
If you're not aware, there's another Point and Click remake of The Black Cauldron, written in AGS:
