Re: Funny thing in a SQ6 Review

Or someone's parents never bought him the CD version of SQIV when he was a kid and he's refused to acknowledge its existence ever since.

Re: Music Help

how are you playing them, through Windows?

You could try DOSBox and running the games in that DOS environment instead of windows. The DOSBox program will let you emulate PC, Tandy, Adlib (i think) and Soundblaster. It might also attempt a pass at MT32 but it wont sound like the real thing.

Although it doesn't sound like its going to start off that great with the baggage, but I certainly hope it ends up better than 2008 did!

Re: This board has no Unicode support!

that's probably a windows limitation being carried over. Windows doesn't have all the extra characters by default (unlike OSX and Linux) so you probably can blame MS for that problem. :D

One post about it would have been enough though. That's the only spam I would attribute here.

Re: anyone remember detroit

maybe we should get copies for the Big 3. if they can't win the game, they lose the bailout money and have to close up shop. (not like they're making decent products anymore anyway)

Re: No Longer Airing.

Practically all of my favorite TV shows are either cancelled and/or no longer airing...and I actually don't really have any favorites I can name at the moment besides MacGyver* and Mystery Science Theater 3000. I never got the opportunity to watch the MST3K series. I really wish they'd bring back r...

probably because GM didn't make ambulances. They would have tried to change Optimus to a Chevy truck if the people wouldn't have totally lynched them for it.

Re: No Longer Airing.

Stargate SG1 might still be in reruns on Scifi. Stargate Atlantis is in its final set of episodes too Stargate Universe is supposed to start in either 2009 or 2010, forget which. MacGyver - you'd probably need to resort to the DVD sets for that. I wished Journeyman (was on NBC) was still running. Ri...

Re: Reliable anti-virus?

What does the registration involve for avast? *curious* I haven't had to register an anti-virus program - or, for that matter, an anti-spam program - but most programs have different registration systems, if at all. Some just require a name, others have asked me for my address and phone number too,...

Re: Reliable anti-virus?

ive been using avast for about 16 months now. just went through re-registration, took just a couple minutes to get the new code in email and pop it in the client. easy. certainly worth the time for the year worth of coverage on my windows boxes.

i have never run across an external USB 5.25". that format was pretty dead before USB became mainstream. You'd probably have to get an actual old PC with 5.25 drives in it ...

Re: (how in Carman Sandiago do I use floppies)

even if you get floppy drives, backing them up to CD is a good idea as well. that way if the disk ever fails (which eventually it will) you wont lose the contents.
