I don't think that NewRisingSun ever fully resolved this. I was afraid that the save games would not be compatible with the unpatched game. You can restore that patch by unzipping the NRS patch back into the patches folder or reinstalling the game on top of itself. Try going into the game's control...

This was a bug that sometimes surfaced with the NewRisingSun patch. You could try removing the NRS patch files and restoring to an earlier save.
