Re: Image A World Without...

 I'll take that as being the real football and not the one with the funny shaped ball and the helmets. ;)

It would certainly be a lot quieter in most of the world considering the popularity of football. Also, the loss in eye candy would be tragic. ;)

Re: The Brainless Box (aka Television Shows)

talking about strong female characters; the season 2 finale of the Good Wife is hands down my favourite of the season so far.

Alicia, Kalinda and Diane are in my opinion some of the most well rounded and characterised female characters around.

Good. I'd love to see a Wonder Woman tv show but as much as I love the actress the whole project is terrible and it never seeing the light of day is best.

Re: The Brainless Box (aka Television Shows)

Damn, I'm dissapointed that The Chicago Code is gone. Jennifer Beals is great in it and shows led by strong female characters are pretty thin on the ground.

Re: Prepare to be struck by lightning...

Or the extra scene at the very end - what it is that they show inside. But you will still love it all! As someone who doesn't know the comics. What was that inside? About the muscles thing: it's just like Jason Momoa. I know Conan is supposed to have muscles, but it's too much. Same for this actor....

Re: "That's the worse thing that could happen to me!"

Speaking as someone who does have real and significant scars, women like this offend me greatly. Still, look, this woman sounds like a grade a airhead and twit but talking about her like this isn't cool. It isn't funny. If she depended on her looks all her life, I can understand being scared to lose...

Re: Prepare to be struck by lightning...

I can't get that hung up on the hair. I just like that they didn't go full out with the long hair. The best thing True Blood ever did was get Skarsgard out of that terrible wig even if Eric has long hair in the books. I read that apparantly the casting of Idris Elba was controversial. I don't get ho...

Re: Prepare to be struck by lightning...

I've never been a fan of long hair on a man. You're not the only one, one thought running through my head most of the movie: oh if only they could give him a haircut. :P I dunno. I may be completely straight but Chris Hemsworth has a pretty freaking amazing body (from the THOR movie) and over...

Re: Prepare to be struck by lightning...

I wouldn't call this the greatest Marvel film *cough*I prefer Iron Man I*cough* however, a great cast and great director totally sell the over the top ridiculousness. The only problems I have with it is that I couldn't find a 2D showing and to me 3D looks like I'm looking into a maquette at times. P...

Re: Break The Spine.

The last book I read cover to cover in one go by virtue of being on a long plane trip. It was entertaining enough to keep my mind somewhat sane by not focussing on the 9 hours of sustained turbulence in an 11 hour flight. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is as glorious as the title suggests. Certainl...

Re: Game of Thrones (HBO Show) - Spoilers Within.

I didn't mention it here like in the main tv thread but I spend most of the first episode and every time he shows up wishing that the white haired dude would be set on fire.

Hell, the majority of the characters are vile but good fun to watch.

Re: Game of Thrones (HBO Show) - Spoilers Within.

I think it bothers me so also because its different in the book and I don't understand why the tv show went this way with it. Why go for that old trope. This is set in a fantasy world. I'm not familiar with the books but historical accuracy to the real world isn't a concern. I can't articulate exact...

Re: Game of Thrones (HBO Show) - Spoilers Within.

I suppose it can be seen that way. At least she's getting herself some power but even if she grows to love him, it will always be her falling in love with a man who raped her and that bothers me badly.

Re: Game of Thrones (HBO Show) - Spoilers Within.

I'm in two minds on the second episode: One the one hand. I enjoyed it, it moved along at a nice clip and plot was interesting enough. Also, yay! Sean Bean. On the other hand. Again, events concerning the white haired lady, Danywhatthehelleverhernameis and the warlord. Those scenes really bother me....
