Re: Dreamfall Chapters...

I'm not a big fan of them either. That's why I waited for The Wolf Among Us to release all the episodes before playing it. As much as I want to play it, I will likely wait for Chapters to be complete as well. Dreamfall: Chapters was meant to be episodic when it was conceptualised a number of years a...

Re: Dreamfall Chapters...

I purposely looked up news about a Dreamfall sequel and found out about the Kickstarter campaign that way. I didn't think it was that "secret", but perhaps if you didn't specifically look for it, it wasn't easy to find out about. It's definitely a new game. From all the development updates...

30 minutes, long? It usually takes me at least a couple of hours, when I factor in the time to decide on a name. ;)

That was actually pretty funny! I think the queen is going a little dotty, though. ;)

Re: What if...

Probably GK2 (I love touring around all the locations in that game) or The Longest Journey (I love how you get to visit a near-future world and a fantasy world).

Re: Fun little read on New Sierra

Ah, Sierra! They were pretty much the only games I played for a number of years. I have to admit I'm suprised at how much I miss them at times. It's rare that I anticipate new games now as much as I did their games then. Of course life in general was much simpler back then, so perhaps it was easier ...

Re: Female Protagonists

I think there are definitely more male protagonists than female, but there have been increasingly more mainstream games with female protagonists. Some that fall outside of the realm of adventures: Portal series Velvet Assassin Mirror's Edge Lara Croft series Plus a number of co-op games have female ...

Re: Grr... up on the house roof - rant, rant, rant!

There is a real trend against customer service these days. Even if she had thought you were trying to scam them, she shouldn't have said anything without checking it on another scale first, just to be sure. I think that giving people the benefit of the doubt is highly underrated. If more people did ...

Re: Great Scott, Marty!

That's kind of odd. I'm not sure if I'd like it or not. I do like musicals, but I think I would have a hard time not comparing it to the movies constantly.

Tawm, you ol' charmer!

Actually, I've become so used to that name online that it is kind of weird seeing anyone (or anything) else using it. I bet if someone said "Maiandra" or "Maia" in person, I'd look over.

Re: Question re: Abraham Lincoln (Vampire Hunter)

Sigh. Why is it so (apparently) successful, then? Because people are rabid lemmings! And incapable of critical thinking. Don't even get me started... I wouldn't categorise many of these books as horror, since they're not really scary. Perhaps a better take is that they aren't scary because they hav...

Re: Question re: Abraham Lincoln (Vampire Hunter)

There are SO many supernatural-themed books now that it's ridiculous. There are a few authors I like that specialise in supernatural/action/mystery books, but the "genre" has become oversaturated with unoriginal knock-offs. I've also noticed that SF has become a catch all category for pret...

Re: Break The Spine.

I recently finished reading City of Dark Magic by Magnus Flyte. Considering I just randomly grabbed it off the shelf at the library, it was suprisingly enjoyable. It's feels like a somewhat "Chick Lit" version of a Jane Jensen story. It takes place in Prague and involves an interesting com...
