Re: Abrams to direct next Star Wars

I liked two of Abrams movies, Super 8 and the new Star Trek movie. I thought the new Star Trek movie was a lot better than 4-6 and just as good as TNG movies. My first thoughts to Disney buying the rights to Star Wars wasn't optimistic at all. The last three Star Wars movies that were made weren't n...

Re: New Acquisitions Thread (image heavy)

KQ1 grey box does not have a flap on it. No need to worry. There is a very rare clamshell Tandy release of KQ1 though. It has the same box art.

Re: SierraVenture / Hi-Res Adventures on PC

According to Moby, Ulysses was ported to Apple II, Atari 8-bit, Commodore 64, FM-7, PC-88, PC-98 and PC Booter. Until they have a box art shot, I'll believe John Williams over MobyGames any day. I do know they made an actual cardboard box for Ulysses. There are also cardboard box versions of Wizard...

Re: Sierra's Worse Adventure Game?

It's definitely Mask of Eternity. First, the voice acting is beyond horrible. (And this coming from an amateur voice actor!) "These leather boots will help me immeasurably." that quote from Mask of Eternity for some reason has made me laugh for the last 14 years. In fact, a lot of Connor'...

It's a legit release. Probably the hardest to find of the SQ1 games. KQ1 had a similar release with their gold box brand.

Re: Sierra's Worse Adventure Game?

It really is hard to say which Sierra adventure is the worst to me. I always seem to change my mind with this subject. Making the decision right now, I'd probably say King's Quest II. I forced myself to finish that game years ago. I hadn't actually played it until the King's Quest Collection came ou...

Re: SuperBowl

Sorry, but I have to pull for the Giants on this one. Me being a Pittsburgh fan I'm sure you understand why. I don't care about sports in general. Especially because I live in the most tortured sports city. It's not like athletes are playing for me and if they win, it will somehow add value to my li...

Re: Games you're looking forward to in 2012

Diablo III, Mass Effect 3 and maybe Ninja Gaiden III. Depends on what I read first on Ninja Gaiden since the creator has left.

Anyone notice every game we mention is a sequel? I'm really hoping for something new.

Re: Adventure Gamers Top 100 Adventures of All Time

I'm sorry, but L.A. Noire should not be on this list. The game was a major disappointment and was quite boring. This is the first I've heard of anyone REALLY liking it. Oh, and if anyone hasn't played Amnesia: Dark Descent, you should. Very intense! I think L.A. Noire deserves to be on the list, if...

Re: Adventure Gamers Top 100 Adventures of All Time

In the meantime, 70-61 are out! This time I contributed Amber: Journeys Beyond write-up. A wonderful, little game that I wholeheartedly recommend! Thus far, this list only serves to remind me, I was pretty picky about what "Adventure" games I played... (Admittedly, other than Sierra, most...

Re: Adventure Gamers Top 100 Adventures of All Time

I have to say I'm shocked LSL 7 made the list. I even said "huh?" out loud. That's not the only game that shocked me either. Gemini Rue did as well. It seems like I just watched the trailer for that game. I should definately try it out now if it's already getting all this praise from every...

Re: Adventure Gamers Top 100 Adventures of All Time

Care to share? :D Hmm.. I am guessing that Day of the Tentacle, King's Quest VI, Myst (hate it), Grim Fandago and quite possibly Gabriel Knight 1?? Honestly, I hope I am wrong on at least ONE of these. These are the ones that usually make it to the end. On a side note, I am REALLY hoping Hero's Que...
