Re: EarthSiege -- earlier demo found, the other restored
BTW, since I haven't played the full game, can anyone tell if the demo mission is a special level or a part of the full campaign? YouTube playthroughs are little help because IIRC there are branching missions and some may not be shown.

EarthSiege -- earlier demo found, the other restored
A while ago I downloaded the playable demo of EarthSiege from here , only to find out that it did not want to work. I had no idea how to fix that and left it for a while, until sometime later, I found a slightly different version of the same demo on a magazine coverdisk (specifically, this one ), wh...

Official previews of some DOS Sierra/Cocktel games found
Hey guys, It's been quite a while since I last showed up here, but my interest in the history of DOS games and related materials continues, and recently I made a rather interesting discovery. A while ago, a user in the BetaArchive forums posted links to a working Wayback Machine snapshot of a German...

Ceasar I free giveaway back in 1999 - early 2000s
This is something I've just learned from this old post: https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/freeware-news/conversations/messages/969 Apparently back in 1999 and the early 2000s the full version of Caesar was available fro a legitimate download from Impressions Games' website: http://www.impressionsg...

Re: Free Games & Demos
A while ago I found a shareware version of a DOS FPS called Alien Cabal . While being essentially a 2.5D first-person game typical of early-mid nineties, it tried to take a more realistic approach to level design, similar to Duke Nukem 3D and later games. However, Alien Cabal was released in late 19...

Re: Various classic gaming websites
For example you might want to know what magazines published a certain demo (or free full) version. If it was not downloadable off the Internet but only distributed on magazine cover CDs (e.g. for file size considerations) then this feature is really helpful. On another note, an interesting YouTube c...

There's one feature there which may be not self-evident, if a file interests you you can click on the magnifying glass icon to the left of the file name, and the search engine will provide you with all entries in the database which have exactly the same size and extension. Hallfiry kindly reminded ...

Re: Free Games & Demos
Yeah, I figured the blog is in Spanish (since it has links to Spanish Wikipedia). Here's some of the interesting games from the database that caught my attention: Tecno - The Base - a futuristic FPS made in the early 2000s style, although apparently it was released much later than that. PaybackTime ...

Re: Free Games & Demos
Just found this really huge blog dedicated to liberated games: http://juegosliberados.blogspot.com/ It's in either Spanish or Portuguese (can't tell because I'm not very familiar with both languages), but everything is pretty self-explanatory. The blog seems to feature quite a few really obscure gam...
