Re: Least Flattering, Worst, Most Embarrassing Royal Nicknames
Of all these, the "Pope Simulator" looks like it has the most taste. (Not that it's much of a competition). I imagine some Catholics might have an issue with it, but depending on how it's done, it could either be something of a learning experience (both good and bad) or something t...

Re: Least Flattering, Worst, Most Embarrassing Royal Nicknames
As long as it's a hypothetical TV show, I have a name that'll sell it: A Game of Popes . ;) You joke, but someone is actually developing a game called Pope Simulator . Why? Because people are weird, that's why! People have created all sorts of nonsense, such as Toilet Simulator , Grass Simulator , ...

Re: Colossal Cave (was Ken & Roberta Game Announcement)
I'm sad to see this game being rated "Weak" on GOG, despite the fact that there are only two (yes, TWO) negative reviews out of eight. (Wait, what?) Well, two reviews out of eight is not an insubstantial percentage. Regardless, this is a very niche game: it's a 3D recreation of a very old...

I prefer the second box, although I think the first box (the weird one with the kids) was released first because that's the one I had.

Um ... is there that much difference between all these? *shrug* They are all the same, except different background colours for the words "King's Quest VI: HEIR TODAY, GONE TOMORROW. ROBERTA WILLIAMS. SIERRA." So ... I really can't see that much of a choice. Did you read the subject? Which...

Re: Which King's Quest II cover do you prefer?
Did anyone else notice that Graham, in these images, is *very* tanned? Especially in the gray box. He's nowhere near as tanned in the game itself. Early game covers, whether they were PC or console, had artwork that rarely portrayed the actual game accurately. At least Graham isn't shown wearing a ...

Funny you should bring this up, Tawm. I just noticed that Steam are having a sale ... on Mortal Kombat 1. :P MK1 on Steam Sheesh. I'm old enough to still remember playing Mortal Kombat 1 -- back in the days of a four-armed Goro, and when the Big Bad was Sheng Tung. With VGA graphics, no less! :D (*...

Re: Programming like it's the 80s.
On a sidenote, why does the presenter's haircut and T-shirt immediately remind me of the 80s? :D The only way that could be any more 80s is if the backing music was "The Transformers Theme", played softly on a synthesiser. Either that, or Europe's "The Final Countdown". Or any o...

Yeah, I would, but you might need to give a few more clues.

Re: Sigh. Why does trying to play EA games have to be so frustrating?
Hmm. I don't think I experienced this "double distribution service" thing before. Do you own any games that require a separate company-owned digital distribution service, like UPlay? If not, then that's why. FYI, the EA App is apparently the successor to Origin, EA's previous Steam-wannab...

Re: Steam and GOG sales
The definition you found is for graphics that are purposefully made to be high-poly or low-poly based on usage. I'm talking about older 3D models that might've been considered high-poly at the time, but today are eyesores. For instance, GK3. Those graphics weren't amazing even back then, but they lo...

Re: Steam and GOG sales
Unfortunately, the models are still so low-poly that even better textures doesn't do much to improve the visuals overall.

Re: So...no one else is gonna bring it up?
It definitely could be that my HDD is starting to fail. The "random running" and slowness issues seem to have stopped in the past few days, though. You might want to download a program called CrystalDiskInfo. It'll show you all sorts of information about your hard drives, including the dr...

Re: So...no one else is gonna bring it up?
Rath, you might want to do a clean install of Windows 10. Again, in my experience, upgrading from one OS directly to another OS usually causes problems, many of which aren't immediately obvious but show up over time.
