[2024] Answer a Question with a Question.

The idea is - the start will start with a question.

The next poster, continues the story - but they must answer the question.

But somehow fit in another question (which ideally is at the end).

So for example, I might write:

John saw a man standing alone, wearing a watch. He approached and asked, "Do you have the time?"

Someone could reply:

"Why, yes I do. Why do you ask?"

Then someone else could add:

"I have an appointment at 9pm. Is it almost 9pm?"

Then another might say:

"Yes, it is. Where is your appointment?"

And so on and so on.

So I will start:

Dave approached a young man standing near a bus stop and asked, "Where you headed, kid?"

[* Single Malt Scotch]

"I'm actually waiting for someone," the young man replied. "Is the 603 late?"

[* Boris]

"The 603? I just got here. Is that the train or the bus?"

[* Tardy Tardis]

"The bus, I think? But doesn't the train also stop here?"

[* Single Malt Scotch]

"Yes, the train also stops here," Dave replied. "So who are you waiting for?"

[* Tardy Tardis]

"Is it someone you know well, or just an acquaintance?"

[* Firiona Vie]

"Somone I used to know well, I would say. Though it's been a long time since we've talked. I don't suppose you have a phone I could use so that I could call them and tell them I am on my way?"

[* Grumpy bear]

"I do have a phone. You're not going to use it for a call abroad, are you?

[* Single Malt Scotch]

"No, it's a local number." The young man dials a number. "Where are you?"

[* Tardy Tardis]

"Are they expecting your call, or will this be a surprise?"

[* Ivaylo]

"It will be a surprise attack! We will sweep in on both sides, taking the Mongols completely by surprise and annihilating them!

Tell me, are you also here to help free my poor people from corruption and foreign attack?"

[* Irda]

"I'm sorry, I don't know who you or your people are. Perhaps you could tell me about yourself?"

[* Ivaylo]

"Ah, you know me not, blue-green one? I am Ivaylo of the Bulgar people! I was once a humble pig farmer, but my poor country was hemmed in by the Greek Byzantines from the south, and the Mongol invaders from the east!

For many years, they oppressed us with heavy taxation and demands for tribute, but our emperor did nothing but hide in his castles, and our noble bolyars did nothing but drive us to ruin with more taxes!

This was until one day, when I picked up a spear to defend myself, and suddenly found myself being an inspiration to my people! For two years, we rode up and down the country, keeping the Greeks and Mongols at bay - and eventually, after the emperor died, I even married the empress in the capital, Tsarnovo!

But my jealous compatriot, Georgi Terter, influenced the bolyars to make him emperor! He betrayed me while I rode south to fend off the Byzantines, locked the gates of Tsarnovo against me, and made me an outlaw - so now I, Ivaylo, seek a way back to Bulgaria, so that I may take revenge on my one-time friend!

But never mind all that; the question is, will you help me?"

[* Single Malt Scotch]

"That all sounds very complicated, so no. I don't think I'll be getting involved. Best of luck though." As I turn away from the medieval Bulgarian who came out of nowhere, I notice my friend has arrived. "Where have you been?"

[* Tardy Tardis]

"Running late, I assume? Or was there some other reason for the delay?"
