Reminder of the clues:

Here's a TIP to get ahead;
you had better face your fate,
otherwise you're very dead.

Are you one of the faces on the wall?

"get ahead", "face your fate"

Yes! I am - ugh! - people's faces and limbs, torn off their bodies. Hopefully after they were dead.

Your turn, NBS! :)

It's an old story
Here I am, facing myself
No one mentions it?

I should just ask the generic question - but this seems specific.

Are you in the King's Quest series?

You are?! *faints melodramatically* ;)

With those hints, I was sure you would be one of the simulacrums that the QfG hero (and friends) have to fight towards the end of Quest for Glory 3. Oh well.

Are you in KQ4?

Taking a wild stab.

Are you the vampire in King's Quest II?

An old story (Dracula), facing himself (in the mirror, but his reflection never shows).

The no one mentions it - I think this is a reference to the fact that no one mentions there's an effing vampire living in Daventry.

You could be right, Tawm. :) But I'm just confused: there's a dragon, an elf and a dwarf (I think?), a flesh-eating witch (IIRC), and other mythological creatures, all living in Daventry ... and all in peace (apparently). Why not a vampire?

Come to think of it, the only mythological creatures I haven't seen in Daventry yet are ... *counts* a werewolf, a vampire bat, a kraken (there may have been one, though I may be mistaken?) and others. So, again: why not a vampire? ;)

I don't know if you'd say a flesh eating witch is living there in peace... nor the dwarf, who robs you if he catches you... and the dragon, well, he's content with his horde, but he took it from the original King... so that's not very peaceful.

And by the very nature of vampires, unless he's feeding on rodents, he's probably not living there peacefully either.

Well, OK. When I say "all in peace", I mean "they're not tearing out each others' throats". :P That's also peace ... of a kind ... ;)

Also - "by the nature of vampires, unless he's feeding on rodents"? Sorry, I must have missed that (but I haven't played KQ2 in years). Is just that specific vampire? I haven't heard of any other vampires who MUST feed on rodents. :?

Usually it's blood; human blood is usual, but some vampires feed on sheep or cattle. I've heard of one unusual vampire who lives in cranberry sauce, and one who lives on coffee. ;) But rodents is a new one.

No

New clue:
It's a little surprising that Sierra included me.

Is the Big Bad Wolf (KQ2) a werewolf? :)

 I never thought of that, but you're right. Bipedal, sentient, speaks, taste for flesh ... he could be a werewolf. ;) But a werewolf and a vampire in Daventry in the same game? Should we be panicking? Why haven't they joined forces and attacked the kingdom? It's practically defenseless.

*thinks* Or maybe there's a backstory behind it that's keeping them apart. Never mind the usual "werewolves hate vampires and vice versa, and they're at war" stuff. Maybe these two have a personal grudge. Maybe when they were younger, the vampire (when he was a human boy) mistook the Big Bad Wolf-Cub for a dog, and rushed up to it with his arms wide, ready for a hug, and shouted "DOGGIE!" :D You know - as kids do. And the Big Bad Cub tried to explain that he wasn't a "doggie", but the boy wouldn't listen ... so to teach him a lesson about manners, Big Bad's dad took him to meet the local vampire, who bit the kid, got struck with remorse, flew away to the island in KQ4, tried to drown himself, and was eaten by the whale.

Hey, stranger things could happen in the KQ world (and often did). ;)

So Vampire Kid grew up, but rather than hating werewolves in general, he just hated that particular werewolf family. And Big Bad Wolf-Cub grew up not knowing what happened to the "doggie" kid.

So when we're not there to see it, they meet completely by accident, start fighting, realise that it was all just a big misunderstanding, and then team up to take over Daventry ... 'cos hey, who's gonna stop them? ;) Can Graham do it before it's too late?! (I doubt it, but hey). Tune in next time, same KQ time, same KQ channel!

Or maybe I'm talking rubbish. :) Sorry. I sometimes let my imagination to run away from me ... and then wait up ... and hit me on the head. ;)

Ahem. Are you in any of the even-numbered KQ games?
