Somebody has made a patcher for this game which is more of a standalone launcher. Aside from solving bugs it also has some other stuff like alternate languages, cheats for character creation and playing as Elsa and Magnum. I haven't fooled around with that stuff but it did fix a terrible problem, using the Mystic Magnets in random battle screen which will make any future random battle ctd. This solved it and saved games were ok.

Good to know. So far I haven't had much problem running the GOG version in Windows 10, but it's good to see that there is interest in supporting the game.
