Which "Trilogy" is your favorite

I recently restarted playing the Larry series, and I have to say, that while I enjoy 5-7 for the comedy, I'm rather partial to the first Trilogy, Larry in those games seems to come off as more "human" and someone we can relate to...sort of...in a way...

I still think the funniest in the series hands down is Larry 7, but overall I was disappointed with 5,6, and 7 in terms of overall "series story arch development". I understand why Al had to go the route he did, I mean Larry Laffer can't be Larry Laffer if he's happily married to Patti. But Larry and Patti after Larry 3 are so different they almost become parodies of themselves. In Larry 1-3, Larry was questing for women, but he was also a down on his luck guy, who's a nice guy, very out of touch with what decade he's in, but still a nice guy, who just wants to find and be loved above all else. this is proved in Larry 1 after you sleep with the hooker.

In Larry 5, ok, Larry at least still dreams of Patti and obviously still loves her, but Patti is reduced to a typical "Larry girl" who seems very disinterested in Larry when thier reunited. Larry 6 and 7 are all about just scoring, forget true love. But I still enjoy those games for what they are, great comedic romps through Larry Land. You could say from a character standpoint, after Larry was ditched by Patti, his one true love, he basically said "what's the point?"

I am most definitely a fan of the original trilogy. LSL2 being my favorite LSL game hands down.

I think a lot of people were disappointed that Patti left Larry. In LSL3 we got to play Patti and bring the two together. A lot of people got attached to her - and saw her as a strong female character (like Rosella, Laura Bow, etc) - then to have her reduced to a typical, non interested former female love of Larry - was a slap in the face to all of us who had played LSLIII.
