New SHP Style
New Board Layout
As you have probably noticed, I have merged some forums to neaten things up a bit. I have combined all of the non-main series games into one main forum and I have merged the non-Sierra games and Other Tech Help into one off-topic forum. You will now be able to see if there are new posts without having to do a lot of scrolling. I have also added some threads from my forum on Tawm's board from when SHP was still being hosted on tawmis.com. Some of these threads may appear as newer than what they actually are. There is information there that I wanted to preserve, as some of it is Sierra troubleshooting and some of it relates to SHP history.

The Sierra Help Pages on its own domain!

The Sierra Help Pages site is moving to its own domain! It can now be found on http://www.sierrahelp.com/ and has its own forum, http://www.sierrahelp.com/forums/
I want to thank tawmis for hosting the site on tawmis.com for so long, but Tawm will still be involved. I am making him a co-admin for the Sierra Help Pages. The new forums will mostly replace the "Collector's Corner" on tawmis.com's forum, but I will allow it to become whatever its users want. Any and all of the tawmis.com's family are more than welcome to join.
I hope that it will become the tech support forum part of the Sierra community's "Super Forum" comprised of other, more established boards, such as the QfMG boards. For more information or suggestions on the ideas of this "Super Forum", see this thread on the official (till it closes) GK forum.
Tawm, join the forum and I will set your permissions.

Doesn't let me log in. Keeps saying wrong user name or password. But I have the email open with the user name and password.
In now. Had to have it reset my password.

I should. I'd need to dig it up.
And um - is it me or is there no reply button anymore on there?
I tried to reply to a post - but I don't see a reply or quote or any kind of button anymore.

Re: The Sierra Help Pages on its own domain!
Tawm and I have been busy. The forums are mostly setup, now. Mostly just need to debug the style that I want to use. Until then I have Subsilver2 set as default. People should start posting any Sierra stuff on the new forums.
jafa, would it be possible to do the same for this forum; to copy the information onto the Sierra Help forum? This forum had a melt down and those thread were lost. If Tawm still has the read only access to the old database, could it be done for that, as well? I want a repository of the Sierra info that these forums provide. That is where a lot of the information on my site comes from.

Re: The Sierra Help Pages on its own domain!
This is extremely exciting.
What I would like to propose is that the Sierra Help forum is the default forum for all and any game technical issues. That means that, in the GK4campaign forums, for instance, where I set up the sub-forum "Technical Problems/Help", it leads the user straight to the Sierra Help forum.
To make this flow more smoothly, though, I think every time that a new user signs up with the GK forum, I can send the information to Collector so that the user name will already be set up for the GK member if he/she needs technical help. Drawback: obviously I can't pass on the password as that is kept private, but a random password could be created, perhaps? And that password could be emailed to the member as soon as they are set up as members within the Sierra Help forum?
Alternative suggestions welcome - but I truly feel that if we collect ALL the technical issues and posts in ONE PLACE, it will be of help to the whole community.

I personally think that that is a great idea, if implemented correctly.Almirena wrote:This is extremely exciting.

My new forum is 3.0.2, I don't know about Tawm's.
BTW, I would be honored for you to join The Sierra Help Pages forum. Post about your new installers and I'll sticky them. There is a non Sierra game forum that you can post about the other installers, such as the Amber installer.
