Stat-maxing guide?

Post by El Ravager »

Strange as it may seem, in all my years of playing QfG, I've never ventured through the series deliberately attempting to max out all my stats. At present, I'm trying just such a marathon. I've made it through 1 and I'm nearly through 2, but am a little bewildered by the thought of exactly how I'll manage in 3. Specifically, I can't off the top of my head think of places/opportunities in WoW to practice raising stats like lockpicking, climbing, strength, etc.

Soooo, I've been searching the internet for stat-maxing guides to these games. So far, no luck. Anyone come across anything like this before, or ever put such guides together? And, if not, would anyone who's done this before care to share their insight with me regarding how to go about stat-maxing in Wow?

Thanks. :)

I remember coming across the same issue. If I recall correctly, using the wrestling bridge in the Simbani Village helped increase climbing. I think it also increases other theif skills.

CyricZ always has very in-depth walkthroughs for the QfG series. Here's his walkthrough of QfG3. Under the section 3C describes how to increase certain skills.

Good luck. :)

Hi, Jules!

Yeah, I did check out his walkthrough. He has some good suggestions, but a lot more spartan than in his other QfG walkthroughs. So, still open to ideas if anyone has any.

If anyone else is interested, so far I've discovered that throwing is a LOT easier to max out in WoW than in TbF (although unfortunately, strength no longer goes up with rock throwing). Just park yourself somewhere in the Savanna throwing rocks, and you'll max out in no time. Also, strength is relatively easy to max out by using the Simbani bridge hand-over-hand. :)

Hi, Rav! :D

Let us know if you discover something new.

IIRC, at the end of TbF, you are granted max points on any stat you choose. Did you take that into account before starting the game? Because I knew there were a few buggers that wouldn't max out, and if I would've known about that, I would've allocated my points in different stats before starting TbF.

Well, gee, this is embarrassing. I found precisely what I was looking for, and it's here on this very website: http://www.sierrahelp.com/Hints/QfG3Skill.html

I don't know if I should be more ashamed of myself for not checking sierrahelp.com first, or ashamed of ya'll for not immediately directing me there. ;)

Having maxed out my thief as much as possible, I've successfully defeated the Demon Wizard and am now in transit to Mordavia. Wish me luck! :)

Well I'll be. I had no clue about it either!

Happy questing! And don't forget to brush your teeth before you come back. We don't want the whole place smelling like garlic!
