Hi,
I just installed space quest 1 vga using your installer and it works great, except it uses midi instead of soundblaster, I can easily edit the resource.cfg myself to change it but I don't want to have to do this everytime I install it, Is there any chance you could put up your nsis installer scripts somewhere so I can personalise my installer? Or maybe add an option to select the soundcard during install?
nsis scripts
Re: nsis scripts
My installers configure the games for optimal settings. This includes audio. As long as you have at least halfway decent audio gear, GM will sound far better than SoundBlaster. Believe me, if I used SB instead of GM I would be getting a lot of complaints. If you really want the hoots and honks for nostalgia purposes, I always include the original Sierra install files for anyone that wants different settings. Just run INSTALL.EXE to change the game's settings. Of course as you noted, you can also manually edit the RESOURCE.CFG to what ever settings you wish.
Basic NSIS scripting is not that hard. You can find everything that you need to get started on the wiki and the message boards. If you do not want to learn it from the ground up, there are other ways that you can use the settings that you want after a new install. You can save the RESOURCE.CFG for the next install and just drop it in the game's folder or you can zip the entire game folder and unzip it when you want it again.

Re: nsis scripts
Thanks collector, I can probably manage an nsis script, I've used them in the past, the only reason I want soundblaster instead of GM is for things like the voice countdown and other digital sound effects.
Thanks for all your hard work on these installers, I am enjoying playing some of the sierra games I missed the first time round, and replaying others.
