Saved Games

In response to a post in this thread,

I also just gave up on Codename: Iceman. It was just hard...

I am on a mission to beat this game and save the save games for folks to download...

It might be nice to create a collection of save games for the classics and make them available for download on SHP. I already have some. How about it? Have a full set of saves from any of the Sierra classics? I have a full set for KQ6. It should be noted from what version of the game and what patches were applied.

Good idea - very good idea. It would also remind some people to replay certain games, just to create a save game for it.

but what sort of guidelines should there be (if any). I'm going to try PQ3 soon (and I'll probably need a save for that bloody map puzzle) but I'd be willing to save mine for upload if i knew any specifics for doing them ...

or just best guess and if they help the user, great!?

The name of each save should be descriptive enough for others to be able to know where that save game is in the game. There should be enough save games to cover the beginning of each scene, before each fork in the plot and/or before each danger point, etc. Because of the limit on the number of save games per folder, this may involve multiple folders of save games.

Here are the King's Quest VI save games (610 KB)

1.034 9/11/94 - KQ6 version 1.000.00G

Folder 1 - Start to the Winged Ones
Folder 2 - The Catacombs
Folder 3 - Isle of Mist, 1st time to Land of the Dead with final entry to Castle
Folder 4 - End game

I plan on tackling and finally beating Codename: Iceman - as noted - but that make take some time... I have NEVER beaten the game.

I have savegames for Gabriel Knight1, King's Quest 1 - 6, Quest for Glory 1 (VGA) - 4, Leisure Suit Larry 1 - 6, Police Quest 1 -4, Conquests of Camelot/Longbow, etc. etc.

Can I post them here? Or I have to send them to you Collector?

if you could PM me the one from PQ3 immediately after the Pentagram map, I'd be grateful. I just know i'm going to get stuck there AGAIN ... (stupid puzzle)

Collector, I tried but it refuses the attachments saying that their extension is not supported. Since I'm an idiot in all this technology stuff, I don't know what to do!
