Very nice. I've got the cds too, and I've been looking for a good copy with the box and manuals.

Very nice finds Collector. The Helicopter 3D is not so easy to find. That together with 3 other boxes for only $3.29 is an amazing deal.
I've been laying low on eBay the past week. Those 2 On-Line Systems games drained me a bit (nearly $100 a piece :( ). Still ran of with 2 thingies:

Thexder for Windows '95. This one completes the Thexder series.

...and those InterAction Magazines i told you about. Those should contain a whole lot of interesting info:

Still watching a couple of items... It's oh so irresistable :)

Wow. I love Sierra games, I do. I have a shrine of the classics. I hail it and praise it. But I am not sure I could drop 100 bucks for a game. Or really, anything collectable... Even some comics that I love... I have a hard time paying more than 40 bucks for, at the most. :(

But I can easily spend more than 100 bucks on multiple comics. :D

Items like those don't go for less unfortunately. Buyers find them without a doubt and they occur so rarely that there's no such thing as a lucky win. I actually expected Wizard & Princess to go for more. Ultima I and Ultima 2 go for about $300. "Ultima: Escape from Mount Drash", the Holy Grail of collecting, was last seen on auction about 5 years ago and went for about... $8,000  . No, i don't have that one...

Also referenced it the "holy grail" of collecting. Meh. I don't get why it's considered the holy grail - other than like only 3000 copies were made (according to Wiki).

While there are a couple of pre AGI games that I would like to get because of their significance to the Sierra we love and enjoy, my endeavors are much more centered around the AGI-SCI era. I would like Mystery House (the very first Sierra game) and Wizard and the Princess/Adventure in Serenia (which was part of what KQ5 was based on). I am feeling the the drain on my wallet just by the volume of my eBay wins. most have been under $10 and nothing over $30-35. I lost the IBM release of KQ1 because I was unwilling to go over $60.

:D
The 3000 produced units is indeed correct, but the game was apparently so crappy, that only a few got sold and the rest got ditched away. Hence the low number of units still in circulation.

On a sidenote: for those among you that are looking for PQ1 AGI, there is currently one listed on eBay. It comes with 5.25 disks though, not 3.5 disks, which also means that it will go cheaper than usual:

I am watching it. I will probably make try at it. Any real collector has a way to read 5.25" disks. Besides that, I am mostly looking for the packaging and extras. I already have all of the games in one form or another, such as part of a collection or just raw disks/CDs.

Nice jafa. While the Sierra games are my first love, I love Adventure games in general. I already have this game, too and am waiting for what you are able to do with it to get it working on XP/Vista. BTW, I have a number of extras of some games. I might be willing to donate some of them, if it would lead to getting them working on modern Windows. Just start a thread a in this forum for any that you might be looking for.

I just received a package I had been waiting for. It was a lot of games, mostly Sierra. I snagged it for only about $10, though the shipping was quite steep. Some of the games will probably end up back on eBay, like Doom and Doom II. There were a couple of boxes that weren't games - Panda Anti Virus and Windows 95. The windows may end up on a virtual machine. These games were complete, many even with the hint booklets. The non-Sierra games are:

Doom
Doom II
Ultima IV
The 7th Guest
Alone in the Dark 2
with Alone in the Dark 1 CD-ROM version
and one of the things that drew me to the lot, Martian memorandum

I now only need complete copies of Mean Streets and Tex Murphy, Overseer to have all of the Tex Murphy games with boxes and Manuals.

The Sierra games included complete floppy versions of the Dr. Brain games, of which I only had CDs without boxes or extras. This lot also gave me some complete duplicates that I might be willing part with in trade.

Castle of Dr. Brain 3.5" floppy version
Island of Dr. Brain 3.5" floppy version
a rare find, one of the Sierra Discovery Series, Quarky & Quaysoo's Turbo Science
a Sierra Value Pack with Police Quest II, Hoyle Official Book of Games and Manhunter II

Duplicates:
Adventures of Willy Beamish, 3.5" floppy version
Quest for Glory II
Manhunter I
Manhunter II
Lost in Time, CD-ROM version
The Colonel's Bequest
Quest for Glory I VGA

and two books:
Quest for Glory Authorized Strategy Guide
The 7th Guest Strategy Guide

From other sellers I also got an unopened Gobiins, floppy version and an unopened The Even More Incredible Machine.

Collector in action
The Dr. Brain games, are those the original boxes or the Sierra Discovery Series boxes? I have both of them as Sierra Originals and Island as a Sierra Discovery box. Still looking for both in original box and Castle in the Discovery Series box.

Did anybody ever hear about the compilation "Shadow Quests" by the way? The German box looks like this:

Image

Nice box eh? Problem is that it's all in German... but i was wondering if anybody among you knows if this box exists as a UK or US release.

Edit: MEIN 8) ! Und jetzt habe ich meine erste Spiele im Deutsch! Wonder if Connor of Daventry will sound as crappy in German as he does in English... :? QfG5 "Drachenfeuer" is the other game in the compilation, lol... Just bought it for the box really. Can't go wrong for only 1 Euro.
