Re: Return to Zork
I did beat the game ages ago - but not without a walk-through. If I recall, it was this game and SQ4 which both drove me mad until I discovered the internet.

Re: Return to Zork
I've got it. Never beat it, though. Never even really tried to play it through yet. Are there still bugs even in ScummVM?

Re: Return to Zork
I know theres still bugs in it with DOSBox.
Never tried ScummVM. 3 most blatent Ive run into:
1. Murdock's House. You're sposed to be able to take some of his items with you "defeat" him. But I run into a bug at times where they keep warping back into his house.
2. The ending....
Ive gotten to it before. Can NEVER get to the last screen, in some 20 playthroughs. I throw all my items at the bridge, and it never raises. And Im sure Im not missing anything.
3. Theres a screen near the end where some graphical corruption can occur, and you can't click on anything. If that happens, say goodbye to your game.

Re: Return to Zork
I remember beating it with a friend of mine about 15 years ago. We had to make copious use of a hint guide and it still took weeks if not months. That game was pure evil.
