Best Sierra's Musical Score

Post by AndreaDraco »

I put this thread here since it's cross-series :)

Basically, what's your favorite Sierra's musical score?

Obviously, I have to say Gabriel Knight's one, thanks to Robert Holmes!

Then, a tie-in for Quest for Glory and Police Quest ;)

The Beast Within hands down.

Best one? The Beast Within hands down - as said.

However, my favorite? Has to be from the Leisure Suit Larry series. Just because the main theme is so damn catchy. I had it for my ring tone forever on my phone.

My favourite GK music? As specified here.

However, there are some utterly beautiful pieces in the KQ series as well. Guess which one particularly caught my fancy.

Girl In The Tower is definitely one of them.

Another comes from the game wherein one feels terribly tempted to cook some Cedric Pie.

Poor Cedric... I love its cute, little outfit

In that one, I loved Cassima's theme!

And, by the way, Girl in the Tower was really beautiful!

Girl in the tower most definitely. Followed by the songs from Phantasmagoria1 the Intro theme had that horror style theme to it. and the End theme was just down right catchy. I also liked the song during the Chase scene during chapter7.

The soundtracks I listen the most (therefore my favs and what I think are best) are SQ4, LSL3, PQ3 and LSL5. The opening movie/track of KQ5 is really good too - they made up for the bad voices with excellent music. Jones in the Fast Lane isn't bad either, but they're most snippets because the tracks are so short.

I've got a decent collection on my ipod (I was a Quester so didn't branch out too far from the core four ... well, five - QFG is mainstream Sierra, but I never got past HQ2 -- and yes, I played Hero's Quest before the name change.) But the ones above I'd consider my favorites.

Ah yes, I really should put all the Sierra game music onto my iPod. <BRAG MODE> My wonderful iPod Touch 32GB, yes... it's a gorgeous iPod, so easy to use, such sleek and beautiful design. It even has Wi-Fi; I can use the MAPS application to check a route; I can email on the go; I can watch movies on it; but best of all, I can put so much music onto it and access it all with such ease! It's terrific for use in the gym - I'm building up my health and strength so that I (hopefully) never again have a year such as this one.</BRAG MODE>

I don't have them linked because I didn't have All of the MP3s uploaded when the Help Pages were on Tawm's site, but now that I have the space I can upload them, now. So as a treat for the SHP members:
and
You will need the Real Player browser plugin to play them. There are a few more, but I don't have the MP3s uploaded, yet.

A few months ago someone on the Sierra forum had linked to the mp3s of the Mysteries soundtrack. Needless to say, I quickly made myself a cd of the music. I've been enjoying it ever since.
