I hate musicals. It's ironic I know.

Re: Adventure Games: The Musical!
Pawdugan highlighted this piece I'd forgotten about in his "Great Moments in Video Game Music History" segment, so I thought I'd revive this thread and add it on.

A wonderful moment. It was without a doubt the most touching cutscene of the game, and the voice of the actress was just perfect.

Not an adventure game song, but still...
Paradimethylaminobenzaldehyde
They don't write them like this anymore. I wonder why.

Re: Adventure Games: The Musical!
That's a good question. I mean, the song title practically rolls off the tongue!
At least they still write songs like this. Or they did in the early 90's anyway.
Back on topic, I can't quite find videos for these, but you can download the songs right off of Al Lowe's site:
Leisure Suit Larry 6 - Cell Block Love (also for Police Quest fans!)
Leisure Suit Larry 7 - Daddy's Eyes (the closing lyrics)

Sure it rolls off the tongue - just practice saying "para-di-methyl-amino-benzal-dehyde"!Datadog wrote:That's a good question. I mean, the song title practically rolls off the tongue!
I've never seen these before! These are fun. I watched the countries song, the universe song, the words song and the presidents song - they remind me of Tom Lehrer's "Elements" song, as well as the classic 'patter' songs.Datadog wrote:At least they still write songs like this. Speaking of which, I just came across some very very rare Tom Lehrer goodness... here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=goJ0QIaXZ-w (aka "The Subway Song", about the Boston subway).

Re: Adventure Games: The Musical!
I actually took the time to learn the countries song. It seemed like such a good challenge at the time, but now I can't find any practical use for this knowledge other than giving me a very small advantage in Scattergories.
Oh, and another video game song - this time for the Bioware fans. From the same guy who posted the Syberia video:
Dragon Age: Origins - Leliana's Song
I'd actually forgotten about that part.

I'm playing "Mass Effect 2" right now and I just ran across some Gilbert and Sullivan.

Re: Adventure Games: The Musical!
Heh. That reminds me... I wrote my very own QfG Gilbert-and-Sullivan musical...
...which I never posted.
I wonder if anyone's interested?

Re: Adventure Games: The Musical!
Doesn't one of the KQ games have the Christmas carol "What child is this?" as the intro song? Haven't played them in so long I don't remember which game though (maybe 1 or 4?). Not really a musical number, but a recognizable song...

Re: Adventure Games: The Musical!
You're thinking "Greensleeves" from KQ1. "What Child Is This" uses the same music.
