Awesome! I was wondering if you were gonna make an installer to work with the King's Quest collection discs also? Unfortunately I don't have the single discs anymore for KQ6.

Yes, I am. It might take a little while before I have them done.

Let me add a twist to this issue.
I am running DOSBox with Windows 3.11 on OS X. When I run the game in Dos, I do not experience the swamp glitch. When I run the game in Windows, for the high resolution, I experience the swamp glitch.

Unfortunately, the saved games for the Dos version do not work on the Windows versions. The game states it is experiencing an interpreter error/version conflict.

Thoughts?

In hindsight, I probably should have started a new thread for this topic.

Regards,

I used this installer and can't run the game in fullscreen. I just get the error in the picture. Additionally, why are the DOS cursors still present in this Windows version?

That error does not matter. It is from a project to skin ScummVM to match looks of the game's GUI to make the Save/Restore screens more like the that of the game. It is an unfinished project so I have not included the skin in the installer, yet. The error can be safely ignored.

Press Alt+Enter to change to full screen or use the config tool to change the default settings to make it always run full screen. If you want the Win cursors you will have to use an SVN build of ScummVM. The Win cursors won't be in the stable build until the next official release.

There's also a flag internally in ScummVM's source code that will allow you to use the original game's Save/Restore window dialogues. I'm not sure if this can be enabled through the scummvm.INI file or not. I merely changed the default setting to be on when I compile my own builds of ScummVM.

Regardless, it won;t run in fullscreen. It just stays on that screen without doing anything. When I run it in a window and then hit alt+enter I get this error.

Additionally, when I use the magic map to try to go to the Isle of the Sacred Mountain I get the following error and ScummVM quits on me. This is getting a little ridiculous.

I'm wondering if you might be missing some files. Run the diagnostic tool and attach the results here.

Ok, here it is. Doesn't seem like it caught any errors.

The warnings in the console are normal, and can be ignored. They have nothing to do with your full screen issue or the map crash. I am not sure why you opened the debugger. Were you getting the map crash before you opened the debugger? Does it happen without it?

I have had a chance to look it over and you are not missing anything in the game's base folder. This does not rule out corrupted files or missing files in the ACTORS or SEQ folders. In each of the two subfolders there should be a "ListFiles.exe" file. If you run this it will make a list of all of the files in its folder that I can use to see if anything is missing.

Your full screen problem may have something to do with your integrated Intel graphics. Can you get ScummVM to go full screen when launching ScummVM directly (not the KQ6 shortcut). You can try playing with different render modes to see if that helps. Also, try changing the scummvm.ini full screen line to:
  • fullscreen=true
If you cannot get ScummVM to go full screen directly, it is an issue with your PC and ScummVM. If this is the case, the ScummVM team may be of more help here.

Hi collector,

Here are the list files. Also, I did not open the debugger, it opened itself automatically. Also tried the fullscreen=true thing earlier, same problem.

You have no missing files. I can't replicate the crash. Does it happen every time? Do you have a save game from before the crash? If so, upload it here. For the full screen issue, download one of the free games from www.scummvm.org and see if you can get full screen out of it.
