Re: Introduce Yourself!
The image is a doozy to fight spam bots who have character recognition... It's a war.oberonqa wrote: I finally managed to get an account setup so I can post (that image verification is a doozy for some reason!)
Anyway, I'm glad to be here, finally able to post and be apart of such a great community.
And, welcome!

Oh I understand the war of spam bots all to well. I just could never quite figure out the actual characters for some reason. They appeared blurry to me and even with the browser zoomed all the way in so I could make out the individual characters, I still couldn't quite get it.
I've been trying for the last three months to actually make an account (I make about three attempts a week). It's quite a secure system you all got here.

Er.
I mean.
Feel free to look around!
And if you see an old thread that you have something to add to - do it. We don't mind necromancy here.

Hello Everyone
I wanted to introduce myself as I am new to the board!
My name is Mike and I am a long time Sierra fan (going back to my old Tandy youth days). Now a days I just work on collecting vintage PC games (here is my personal collection: http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/pag ... 1760953401 ) for my collection. I'm pretty excited as it will be in the artofsierra.com book coming out!
I also run vintage game collectors page on FB "Classic Game Collectors", its good stuff as it has connected me with Al Lowe, Scott Murphy, Jim Walls and lots of other classic game creators/designers.
If you have any questions feel free to ask! I have to thank Tawmis for sending me over this way.

Re: Hello Everyone
I told him to knock on the door and say, "Tawmis sent me."
Ironically met cpages2 on FB, because he runs a LSL FB page where I had posted my LSL link.

Re: Hello Everyone
Thank you everyone for the warm welcome!!! Been trolling all day and I cant wait to jump in start posting, I love the new game acquisition thread!!!
I would say my favorite series is Police Quest, then Space Quest in a close second. I stopped counting the amount of run throughs on PQ1 at 100. lol
See a lot of people with xbox tags on their post, my name is Cpages2 on XBL is you want to add me.

Re: Hello Everyone
Awesome to see a Police Quest fan! Strangely, despite the iconic title, there isn't always a HUGE following that would say PQ marks their favorite game of the Sierra series! So that's awesome!cpages2 wrote:Thank you everyone for the warm welcome!!! Been trolling all day and I cant wait to jump in start posting, I love the new game acquisition thread!!!

Re: Hello Everyone
*puts in his vampire fangs* Ah, fresh people for my ever-growing army of the undead...
Hello and velcome to... *thunder rolls, lightning flashes* Pennsylvania! Mwa ha ha ha!!!
Anyvay (er... way), greetings and salutations! It's always good to 'see' new people here.
As for Sierra games... I have to say my favourite is the QfG series, for nostalgic reasons, as QfG1 was the first Sierra game I played, back in the day when EGA graphics were all the rage. (Back in 1991, as it happens). However, QfG1 was not my first game ever - that honour (?) goes to the CGA Tetris, with the EGA Maniac Mansion a close second, and then QFG1. Anyway, QfG is my favourite, LSL is second (again, for nostalgia reasons), and GK third. Then come PQ and SQ, in that order - mostly because it's so easy to die in SQ, it's so frustrating (though fun!).
Anyway, I'm rambling (which seems to be a habit of mine!) Welcome again, and thrice welcome!
(Bonus points and choc-chip cookies to anyone who points out the two references to pop culture (and one to a Sierra game) in this post!)
