What is this KQIII document? (Picture)

Post by HappehLemons »

Can someone tell me what the highlighted document in the first picture is? I've seen a lot of "complete" copies but I've never seen this document in any of the boxes.

Well... I don't know what the document is off hand (I'd have to try and dig out my copy which would be a nightmare to get to currently)... but... I'd question those disks also. Those don't look at all legit. Or at least not like the KQ disks I
have.
Mine look like this:

But with the KQ3 logo:

And my other ones I have look like this:

Yeh, I have a funny feeling about those disks but I'm no expert and I know sierra was changing them all the time so I'm not about to call them fake either. Regardless I'm just confused as to what is on it as it's clearly not the manual.

Ask the seller, he's a good guy, he'll answer your query.

Looks like it is a Slash re-release. The one document looks like the Slash version of the manual with an impression of the floppy disk on it. The inner box looks like it, too. They had flip top end rather than the normal two piece box. The manual on top looks like an original Sierra manual that was stuck in it. as Dot said, the seller is honest. I have purchased a number of games from him without issue.

Could it be the hint book?

The hint books tend to be much smaller than the manuals and that looks to be about the same size. Regardless, it is a Slash re-release, so its value as a collector's item is diminished.

Look at the disk labels above. Also, from games of that era, the inner box is a white, one piece flip top box instead of the normal 2 piece box. The original release had the cream colored box with the Sierra Redwood building. The manuals tended to be printed on plain paper. The system requirements were often printed on the box instead of on a glued on label. And finally, all of the contents were often placed in a white envelope inside of the box.

I've got one or two of those Slash re-releases then for sure.

They don't invalidate the games for plays sake, only that they are of diminished value for the collector.

I get that. Playing the game is my main reason for buying so it's all good. I didn't pay much for most of my games anyway.

It's good that the Slash releases are out there, at least for the games that didn't get a more recent release. People that just want to get the games to play don't have to compete with the collectors for them.
