Quest for Glory 3 closes after launch (win7)

Hello.
I just used the DOSBox installer I downloaded here http://www.sierrahelp.com/Patches-Updat ... ml#QfGColl to install Quest for Glory 3. When I tried to run QFG though, the DOSBox window appeared for a second or so and then closed.

Looks like you are missing the main resource file, RESOURCE.000.

That's weird - I just checked and it's in there:

The installer is designed for the files from the original install disks. The RESOURCE.000 and RESOURCE.AUD are split and compressed across multiple files. It will not work with files from a copy that has already been installed. Use the files from your original disks.

If you only have QfG3 why not use the stand alone installer instead of the Collection installer?

Somehow I missed that. It would explain why he didn't have the install files. As Dot said, use the Collection series installer. It installs it directly from your CD. No need to copy the files to your hard drive.

I said the opposite Collector. He used the Collection series installer, but only mentions that he's installing QfG3. If he only has the one game he should use the standalone QfG3 installer.

He used the QfG3 installer from a folder on his hard drive. He included a screenshot of the folder with his install files with the QfG3 installer, but it didn't show.
