Phoebe? Why? I seen her as perhaps the most distant from the core, which, for me, has always been Rachel-Ross-Monica-Chandler.

Because she was always so out there and silly, while everyone else sometimes had serious issues (usually with relationships). She was always so pure and unchanged.
