I am not seeing anything wrong. To clarify, is it the voices or the music that you are having trouble with? Does it work right with the installer here, but does not work with the Windows version? By the way, on XP you will not have sound from DOS games without an emulator like DOSBox. When running DOS games in XP it is always recommended that you use DOSBox.

I don't hear the music in the game, but I hear the voices and the start music! With the installer I hear music in the DOS Version!

If you're running the Windows version Adlib music won't work. You'd need to use your Windows MIDI driver which would explain why you hear no music if that's not set up properly. I don't understand why you'd get no music in the DOS version, though.

Actually he said with the DOS Installer he does hear music.

Ok, so it's just the Windows version then? Are you running it with ScummVM or how are you attempting to play it?

Actually, the default WINRES.CFG on the CD uses the ADL.DRV. and it does produce music in Windows.

At this point I would say that there is something not quite right with your PC's configuration. Make sure that you can hear MIDI files in Media Player, check your mixer, make sure that you have not chosen an MPU-401 for your MIDI device without a unit to receive the output, etc. If all else fails, just play the game in DOSBox.

Just add the game's folder to ScummVM's GUI. It will probably take some tweaking to get the music sound right with ScummVM. I am curious, though, if the game is working right in DOSBox, why are you so determined to get the Windows version working? Granted, the music is slightly different and there is the short digital Weeping Willow song, but otherwise has nothing to offer over the DOS version and is far buggier. You are far more likely to get the fatal heap error and/or the lockup at the end of the game. Both of these errors are game ending errors.

I collect all the versions of the games. The last what I try is to run the Windows version of the game in ScummVM.

Where is ScummVM's GUI? I installed ScummVM but when I start it and add the game, it only install the DOS version!

It looks like the Windows version isn't supported yet.

When nobody have got an idea to run the Windows vesion...then I'll run KQ5 in DOS first. I'll ask at the forum on the ScummVM website.

Thanks very much for the help.
