Hello everyone,
I am glad I found this website! I've been wanting to play King's Quest VI for a long time now; it was perhaps one of the best games I ever played as a kid. I downloaded the installer yesterday and successfully installed it from my CD-ROM (great work there!). However, when I start the game in ScrummVM, the window is way too big for my screen (it's 1366x768) even though I have configured it in ScrummVM (using the "Configuration of KQ6 in ScrummVM" shortcut) to display in a small screen.
If I do it in DOSBox the screen size is correct, but I would like to be able to use the Windows version of the game
Thanks a lot for your help!

That's because the Windows version is double the resolution because of the hi-res dialogue portraits and GUI's. You'll need to go into Edit Game of the KQ6 Windows entry in ScummVM, go to the Graphics tab, click the Overide global graphics settings checkbox and change the Graphics mode to Normal (no scaling).

If you used the installer from here, the ScummVM GUI won't work without adding the game to the main scummvm.ini. Just use the config utility the was installed with the game to change window sizes.

Yes, that's the one I've been using, but the config utility doesn't seem to "recognize" that I changed the window size in the settings.

Make sure that you have "Small Window" selected. If this does not work, run the diagnostic tool and attach the results here.

Re: KQ6 on ScrummVM - Window is too large
Well, I was selecting "Small Window" and it still wasn't working; when I started the game the window was large, and when I started the config app it was "stuck" on large window. So I reinstalled the game (in a different path and outside the "Program Files" folder), and selected Small Window in the config just after the installation. And now it's working ok Time to play!

That would explain it. Write permissions in the Program Files directory are limited. It wasn't allowing you to save the changes. I am surprised that it didn't write an INI to your VirtualStore.Papa Lemming wrote:I reinstalled the game (in a different path and outside the "Program Files" folder)!

INI should be alright. Let me pm you the list of forbidden extensions
