KQ7 full screen intro movie size
I'm trying to record the intro movie through the DOSBox recorder, but it's just a tiny frame in the window. Any way to display it full screen?

I mean full size in the DOSBox window itself, Tawm, not have the DOSBox window display on the entire monitor, cause that still keeps the movie size itself small.Tawmis wrote:ALT+ENTER when viewing.

I don't think the resolution CAN be changed (because the movie was created at 320x??? resolution or whatever). The only way is to import the movie, as is, and then resize it within an editor. Of course, if you do this, it's going to distort/pixelate the movie.

Re: KQ7 full screen intro movie size
It does seem to be a limitation. Even when DOSBox is set to full screen or even having the DOSBox window size scaled up, many of the Sierra movies, regardless of format, displays at its original size. I have experimented with different outputs and render modes, etc., but was never able to get the movies to scale up. If Qbix sees this, he may have some input.

I think it's because DOSBox can tell the GAME what resolution to be in, but the movie - when it plays - is set to that resolution that it was made in.
It's just like if you play the movie (for example in 320x240 resolution) in Quicktime, Windows Media Player, etc - and stretch out the size of the player (say to full screen) then capture the movie. It doesn't matter. It's going to capture the movie at it's original resolution (320x240 resolution) vs 800x600, 1024x800, or whatever resolution.

DOSBox can't tell a game to run in a resolution other than the one that it was designed for. That can only be done through the game settings, if the particular game has the capability. About the only way to do this with SCI games is to use the VESA driver, if it had one. All DOSBox can do is scale the output after the fact, but for some reason it can't scale the in-game movies the same way. The movies do scale in ScummVM.Tawmis wrote:I think it's because DOSBox can tell the GAME what resolution to be in, but the movie - when it plays - is set to that resolution that it was made in.

Got it. For the Sierra logo and menu I used the DOSBox recorder. The opening movie itself I inserted through the resource file viewer. Easy peasy .

Don't forget that the Windows version of it is a plain AVI file.
