Windows 7????

Post by KQ Gamer »

My friend want to play some old Sierra games. He has got Windows 7, so my ask is: Does all the installers from sierrahelp.com works with windows 7?

I believe Collector uses Win 7 himself. So I am pretty sure the installers here all work with Windows 7. And the ones that have had issues, when folks come here and post the error and diagnostic file that you can create - Collector usually figures out what the issue is and manages to fix it.

However, that said, I will let Collector verify what I said (just in case I am wrong about whether or not he uses Windows 7).

To be clear (I believe in another thread you asked about German versions of the game) - the installers are made for the US release versions of the games. Sometimes, the format of how the game (files, directories, etc) is different in versions outside of the US, so the installers may not work. And if Collector doesn't have those versions himself to test them on, it's best effort to get them to work with the patches he provides on here. (Just in case your friend is also outside of the US...)

The installers are XP/Vista/Win7 compatible. KQ7 is a special case because of the binary level patch. As long as the file layout of the game files on the original media is the same they should work. If not it is possible to add support for other versions.
