Quest for glory 5 runtime error Help!!!

Ok i now need help on Quest for Glory 5 when fighting the dragon when it breaths the fire on me i get a runtime error.
i am using vista premium. i installed the game using the QFG5Setup from this sierra help board. I even installed the microsoft c++ 2010 real time error fix.

i tried turning off the sounds in the game control which i read on other boards should fix this but it didn't.

Ok, cool . QG V is (unfortunatly) the only QG game I have, but I was affected by that crach the patch should fix, so I never got around to finishing it.

This might be completely unrelated - but give this a try - because I don't imagine it's going to hurt any...

The problem with that is that the Quicktime that the game uses is not installed on the system, so the Quicktime applet in the Control Panel won't work with the game. I really wish that they had not used Quicktime for the game. Almost all of the problems with the game stem from the Quicktime.

Try moving all of the *.q3x, *.qtp and *.qts files from the base of the game's folder to get the game to use the system's Quicktime. If this does not work, try Tawm's suggestion. Be sure to save the old Quicktime files. You may need them to get past the Minos scene. If none of this works, Post your save games so I can take a look.

So we can grab the terminology of the exact error?

Here's some things I found based on the error, please try them and let us know if any of these work:

The error seems to occur as a result of both the sound of the Dragon's Fire and the sound of your character taking damage playing at the same time. I belive the problem will be solved if the right sound is volume is ruduced to zero in the game's options. If that doesn't work, then you have to pause the game until the breath sound stops, then continue.

Also:

I find QFG5 runs better in Windows 2000 compatibility mode when running it in Windows XP. If I run it in any other mode the audio is all messed up... I'd suggest trying it without offering to sacrifice yourself or asking anyone else to sacrifice themselves, and try to keep Toro and Gort alive by giving them healing potions. Either one of them dying seems to trigger the game to crash.
