Lucas adds changes to original Star Wars trilogy....AGAIN

Let Lucas change things all he wants with the original movies. Let him give Luke pink hair and CGI lice. I'd support it - as long as he would simply re-release the the original films with the original content.

You beat me to it. I was going to suggest it as well, when Lucas is long gone and can finally no longer say "no," and the fans will demand it so much that the rest of the company sees the marketing opportunity for what it will be- THEN they'll do it.

I've asked my sister to bring over her VHS tapes next time she comes to visit. I'll hook up the VCR to my 50" plasma and we'll have a blast.

What's funny is that he keeps making these tiny changes and saying that he's trying to give us his real vision for the movies. If these changes are part of his vision, then why didn't he add them back when he was already tinkering with the movies?

He's like an absent-minded director. "I got a new idea for the special edition! ...What do you mean the special edition's already out? Well, tell all the fans to throw their copies away - I forgot to make the Ewoks blink!"

My prediction: next release, Jar Jar will be living with Yoda on Degobah.

That scene in ROTJ was one of the most moving and important ones in the SW series! The way Vader dealt with the conflict of emotions he felt and then acted -- silently, I might add -- really defined his character.

Having Vader yell "No! Noooo!" simply destroys all of that.

I agree. The yelling is tacky and corny. It really destroys all the suspense.

Exactly! It's like he's dumbing it down so that the audience doesn't have to be able to pick up on the more subtle head motions of Vader as being the indication of his decision. I think his decision holds more weight, when he says nothing.

Besides, it also is less likely to tip-off the Emperor that he's about to chuck him in a bottomless pit.

Sad. I hadn't read the article yet and I thought you were joking about the blinking and just coming up with an outrageous example. I wonder how long before he refilms the movies. I could see him doing it fully CG and filling in the audio and dialogue from the originals.
