You can listen to almost every Sierra track at this website if you want to.

I'm not sure how to get them from the cd's. I know some work just by putting them in a cd player. I know Inca II does.

Most of the Coktel Vision CD games have Redbook audio tracks. For digital audio you can use Game Audio Player to extract them, but you may find them jumbled up and mostly it will be sound effects and speech. Some digital music may also have other sounds over laid on the music. For the SCI games you can use the Sierra Resource Viewer, but without the proper patches the music may not sound right. DOSBox can record the raw MIDI output from games as you play. If all you want is to hear the music, Quest Studios is the answer.

SCI Resource Viewer will playback all the sounds/digital music in RESOURCE.AUD individually, rather than as one big file (like what would happen if you loaded RESOURCE.AUD in an audio editor, which is also possible). But they're all numbered not named.

Re: Music from the cd's
Thanks for the reply! Where can I download the sci resource viewer or the game audio player?
I know quest studios but much music from King's Quest 4 and much music from King's Quest 7 is missing! And when it is the best to record the music while playing the game with DOSBox, how can I do that?

Re: Music from the cd's
CTRL+ALT+F8 starts and stops recording of raw MIDI data outputted from DOSBox into its "capture" folder. However, the game's music driver must be set to MT-32 or General MIDI in INSTALL depending on the game. Not Sound Blaster/Adlib, which isn't MIDI. But again, if you don't have an MT-32, the games that don't support General MIDI will sound all wrong.

I found about that i also can record when I press CTRL+F8! What is the difference? With the twice combination it works!
Re: Music from the cd's
Don't you mean that if you don't have an MT-32 that MT-32 will sound wrong, not GM?

From the DOSBox README
http://www.dosbox.com/DOSBoxManual.html#SpecialKeys
You can see what the special keys are here:Graphics emulation (speed up)
VGA emulation is a demanding part of DOSBox in terms of actual CPU usage. Increase the number of frames skipped (in increments of one) by pressing CTRL-F8. Your CPU usage should decrease when using a fixed cycle setting, and you will be able to increase cycles with CTRL-F12. You can repeat this until the game runs fast enough for you. Please note that this is a trade-off: you lose in fluidity of video what you gain in speed.

Re: Music from the cd's
What I meant was, if you're trying to record MIDI from a game that doesn't support GM, the outputted MIDI file will not sound correct when played through a MIDI player. Unless you change all the instruments manually.Collector wrote:Don't you mean that if you don't have an MT-32 that MT-32 will sound wrong, not GM?

Re: Music from the cd's
CTRL+F6 records digital audio to a WAV not MIDI data.
