King's Quest Collection(2006) for Steam

Post by joek0 »

The 2006 KQ Collection for Steam is available for Steam for $20 for games 1-7. The Steam version is much cheaper than the GOG version($30 for games 1-8). I know that the Steam version has the same problems as the CD version. I want to know what patches I would need to use as the New Installer won't do me any good. I wnat to know if anyone got the Steam version to work as the Steam forums have the same issue. Also can you also tell me about the Steam version of Space Quest Collection(2006) and what patches I would need for that.

Just download and use the installer created by Collector

http://www.sierrahelp.com/Patches-Updat ... .html#KQC2

It will install and setup all the games to work on your computer. Any patches that are required are included and automatically installed during the setup.

That installer is for the physical CDs. The Steam version won't work with the mentioned installer. But thanks anyway.

Just use this.

It has been reported that it works with the Steam version. You may want to move the collection's folder out of the %ProgramFiles% folder to somewhere like

Code: Select all

C:\Sierra\King's Quest Collection
first.
