sq6 sound issue

In Space No One Can Hear You Clean, er, Scream. But if you post in this forum about Space Quest - someone's sure to hear you. I think. Try it, anyway!

sq6 sound issue

Post by resin »

While playing SQ6, I encounter an issue with the speech audio. Every now and then, while speech is going on, you'll hear short bursts of distortion (each one lasts for a split second). Everything else works fine. This is from the 06 collection and I used the 06 collection installer to install it.

Per the Issue With Games thread, if you used an installer from SHP, please post the Diagnostic Log file. If you go into the Sierra Game folder for your game, you will see a "Diagnostic Tool" - run it and paste the report within a message (or save it as a text file and attach it to the message, which ever is easier).

This will give us (well, Collector) a better understanding of what the issue is (and saves time of having him ask in his post for you to post it). In some cases, he doesn't need the diagnostic report, but it never hurts to post it just in case!

It could be that the RESOURCE.AUD file (or whatever file has the speech audio data) got corrupted somehow.

The diagnostic will tell.
