I've been looking forward to this and now the recently released teaser has really grabbed me. Fans of the Alien series will notice a few key similarities.

Re: Ridley Scott's Prometheus
I see them (the similarities) - but I'd need to watch Alien again, to truly appreciate it. Thus far, the teaser/trailer didn't stir excitement in me. But like I said, I remember a lot of elements about Alien - but I definitely think I need a refresher, and need to watch it again, to really get the impact. (Because it's been EONS since the original Alien movie and there's been a few bad melons in between, that are mucking up my memory).

Re: Ridley Scott's Prometheus
Well, the movie is not going to be about aliens (at least, so says Ridley Scott), but rather more focused on the Space Jockeys. Ridley Scott is the guy that wrote and directed the first Alien. He also did Blade Runner (a movie I never particularly liked). I'm sure there will be nods to Alien in there (certainly the way the letters of the title appear on screen for one!) but I'm more interested in the lore behind what happened to that ship.

Re: Ridley Scott's Prometheus
I watched one of trailers & it does have quite an Aliens (the second movie, not the first) look to it, the external shots, armored vehicles, etc. I really hope that it is more in the vein of Alien - a much more riveting movie than Aliens.
It seems that the blend of horror/suspense & sci-fi genres have failed so miserably in recent years. Lets hope that Ridley can pull it off.
