You must not have version 2 of the game. If you post the version of your copy, someone may know the bypass code, if there is any. If not you may have to use your manual.

I have a copy of that version, too. I am unfamiliar with any bypass for version 2.2. If anyone knows, I would be interested, too.

Crud I think I came across the pass phrase in some editor (AGI studio?) at one point, but I forget what it was. I think it may have started with a B, barnacle maybe?

Though honestly, it's not that hard to remove it entirely. Change one room number in the script... and that's all I have to say, it's more fun to figure it out for yourself. :D

To get past the copy protection, you hit Alt-D and type in "marble"

They changed it in the later versions, it's only marble in 2.0 as far as I know.

Yeap, you're right. If you read through the posts you'll see that Collector pointed that out. And thus, the original poster asked where he could get a copy of 2.0

I have another problem with my AGI 2.0 version of this game. Every time Rosella tries to swim to Genesta's island, the game crashes as soon as she reaches the far left edge of the screen.

I know about the debugging mode, then typing "tp" and enter a room number. So far, I got from 1-30, being teleported across Tamir, but from 31-40something I get the same error message as if swimming in the ocean.

Any hints, anybody?

Thanks in advance,
Marlene

This is because you have the abandonware copy that is floating around on the internet that is the game data from one of the disks. You can find this game on e-Bay. To be sure that you are bidding on the AGI, the AGI will have 256K for the system requirements on the box and SCI has 512K. AGI has three 3.5" or six 5.25" disks and SCI has four 3.5" or nine 5.25". Keep in mind that the SCI version is far more common.

Thanks for the info. I have the KQ IV SCI on my Roberta Williams Anthology and so will look out for the AGI version on ebay.
